Cinematic Guitars is a PHENOMENAL sound as well.... its NOT a guitar plug.
It's going to be quite some time before I get through omni :scared:

Tons of really inspiring stuff. Loving the "old school" stuff quite a bit more than all the floaty stuff.

The VIP patches add a ton of rhythmic stuff which I always find uses for.
Yeah..I'm liking Omni a lot here...between that and Trilian I'm practically set for whatever comes along patchwise here...and making more is even funner....

edit...no red squiggly line under 'funner'.... :hihi:

Glorious Guitars is the kind of patch you can noodle around with for hours if you're not careful. Particularly if you have certain Nordic reverbs at your disposal.

That is quite true. That was the first one that I mucked around with..played it all blinking night and had to go to work next morning...

@el-bo: Beautiful little thing you have there..nice on the ears :)

Did you guys got omni 'cause you are into ambiance stuff or is it omni patches that 'forces' you to play this kind of music ?

Post

Could the answer be both :)

despite what many people think, i find the omnisphere soundbank to be very varied...even IF the library was limited to a certain genre (which i don't find), it also has, at it's heart, a very powerful synth and a great fx section

make with it what you want

I've used Omni in quite a few different genres. But if I have a certain idea for a sound in mind, it's the best thing in the world because you can use the browser and find it.

I still think the answer is BOTH :D

In the short time I've had it I've found all kinds of "vintage" sounding stuff that got instant stars ;) This will replace allot of the stuff I'm currently using for that type of sound.

that's the way to do it, use stars when idly browsing...also 'projects'..combining the 2 will mean you will start to make great headway into making such a sprawling library a viable option

didn't realise you were actually playing it....having fun ?? it did cross my mind that you might absolutely hate it :)

I don't think I understood that. ^^^ It's going to be fine. Nice big fat juicy. I do wish there was a way to easily disable FX on all the spec stuff though. I'd rather use my own 85% of the time.

The only thing I "hate" is samp/wavetable because they "click" easily in some situations and the note length is so obvious (like the chipmonk/vs/ludes thing)

But that is not an inherent thing of omni (or trilian), it's also massive, kontakt, etc etc etc.

Omnisphere is a lot more than ambiance. It can do aggressive synths or vintage stuff or w/e. Alot of the ambient patches are taken from Atmosphere.

Post

@hibidy There are clicks? oy.... :x No more clickety clicking!!! :x

Actually the idea that Argy had is a good one...it does make sense to check soundsets that you would use more than others. As it is here, most of what I use tends to be what 'el-bo' is using from the sounds of things..and I still have barrels to go through yet
