I know Arksun is a great sound designer, but that's nothing new, and nothing that cannot be achieved in other synths.
whilst I do find most of your posts on this thread very unbiased and nothing wrong with your dissenting opinion, it is as valid as everyone else's.....but I am listening to the demos from the arksun's bank.....and maybe it is because I already know that it's Diva and my mind is playing tricks with me..... but I actually find this very unusual to the other edm stuff I have heard....not as bright and over processed etc.... I am finding this warm....fulll...phat.... I am so getting this bank.

There are already a lot of VSTs which try to sound like a Virus :)
(Please not another Virus discussion....thanks).

If the likes of Noisia and Netsky start using DIVA, i'll eat my words happily.

That's cool man, each to their own, like i've said countless times, those who love DIVA, I couldn't be happier for. I got no issues with the synth, it is quality.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that anyone who goes against the grain seems to come under a barrage of BS to prove their opinions wrong.

People are allowed to speak their minds, and say they don't like it, they don't need people trying to prove their opinions wrong.

can you, please, define "warm" and "phat". (it is rhetorical question since, of course, you cannot. that's why you use these terms.)

What I find with Diva is that it gives sounds real heavy weight to sit well in a mix, particuarly with the excellent MultiMode filter which is my favourite filter in the synth. This is regardless of genre.

you know for me I think it is something in the low mid's and roll off in the high end that for me I consider warm.......not sure what terms I want to use to describe fat...its the sound of a synth with unison mode on vs off...etc.

Granted there is a lot subjective with use of terms like and fat, but I don't use them because I can't define them, I use them because that's how I subjectively feel when I hear those sounds.

ok, so that basically means that every synth can sound warm if you apply an EQ (and if you want an out-of-the-box-warm-sound you just hard-code that eq setting into the synth). And every synth with unison mode can sound phat.

ps: it saves a lot of heating expenses then when you play your Diva in winters :-)

we don't have winters in jamaica..... so I won't have that issue. :-)

warm is not eq' driven.....even if I, inadequately defined it in terms of frequencies..... but clearly I think you are purposely trying to be ridiculous in your argument.

That's an interesting question I find you raised about unison mode....if all synths will sound fat in unison mode....I don't have an answer...those that I do, like omnisphere and imOscar 2...... definitely sound fatter in unison mode...
does synths like diversion and z3ta 2 have unison modes? Those, for example, are synths that I don't consider sounding fat at all, and that isn't necessary a bad thing for some uses....

one of my first conversations I had with a well respected sound designer about the warmth and fatness of Diva, he immediately drew my attention to what was happening in the trimmers tab......

btw, I will reveal now my secret weapons in order to achieve that special touch-sound in synths:

a) Unstable by de la mancha: http://www.delamancha.co.uk/unstable.htm
(not really about warmness, but really cool for pitch instability fx if you like it lofi - which I do at times)

b) Metallurgy by ugo: http://www.ugoaudio.com/plug-ins/metallurgy
this is really such a wonderful tool for any sound designer. A real must.

cheers, akj

warm and 'phat' (sic) - not harsh in the upper frequencies. tonally rounded in the lower mids. that's my attempt, anyway
