Zebra 1.0 was similar to the classic Virus and designed to complement it. Both have then evolved into different directions. I don't feel the need to compete with the Virus, and neither seem guys at Access/Kemper feel any need to do the Zebra thing.

I did tell Christoph a few details about Diva's filters though, and I believe that Marc and Timo were quite impressed. Maybe they'll figure it out :)
Now that my ti is being shipped to
Me ill be making preparations to get the diva on the zebra:) can
Never get enough of great presets and
Those two sound fantastic!:)

So you ended up getting a Ti even though you keep banging on about 2 soft synths being the best thing you've heard. If the 2 soft synths are that good to your ears , why fork out over a thousand pounds for a hardware synth.

Some people are either liars or have more money than sense.

Not a liar. TI I bought because I miss it a lot! I bought a used desktop. Nowhere near over a thousand pounds. The diva is a tottaly different animal it is a soft synth and it sounds nothing like a ti I like a variety. As far as analog I will not buy any others, TI is appealing to me because of the VA and being able to automate. I mostly work out of a box. As far as zebra it sounds though not as fat to my eats as TI or deva but it has a ton of presets and many are useful. And it's $200.
I have a huge palate of sounds samples and soft synths and I will keep buying. The ones I don't use I sell, and I sold enough these
Last two month to cover the TI:)

So calling someone you don't know a liar is pretty stupid. This forum openness my eyes to u-he that I had no clue about and that alone was worth the efford..

So don't be either jealous or a jerk

P.s. soft synths have their qualities TI and alike instruments have theirs. There's no reason these days not to have both they're equally cool and useful In different ways

I didn't call you a liar personally, I said some people must be liars who want a Ti for the sake of having a Ti, when they really are not going to get one at all, or they do get one and hardly ever use it as they have an army of plug-ins already.

Ti's aren't "all that" by any means. I quickly learnt that when I wanted one a long time ago.

I owned a poco virus for years and a lot of my tracks are have virus on it. I didn't use it all the time but when there's was a place for a virus it worked best out of all the other things. That is why I wanted to see if there's a synth that is like a virus. This weekend my buddy brought over his ti to my house to play with for a couple of days. And I love the knob thing. Sure don't need the keyboard but the knobs are too much fun and it sounds better than poco's version, at least that's the impression I got. So I got ti1 desktop in a mint condition for $1200 us small price to pay for something that inspires you. I'm sure one day I'll be over it and perhaps sell it but until then:) I shall have fun:) plus it comes with approx 7000 patches.. Think about it? Even of a third of them
Are useful they are easy to modify.. Soft synths often come with 300 patches and 50-100 of them are isefull at least in my experience..

What appeals to me such much about the TI is how so many people have them and there are a lot of banks available. It's like a limited platform which pushes people to innovate and out-do each other.

Same is true for some softies too, but I love the idea of switching off my computer and still being able to explore synthesis.

Not only that but most of the banks from virus ABC from back in the day work with the TI as well so now you have a massive ammount of patches

i don't know, i had the ti myself and found it is a beauty, but soundwise i preferred nexus and dcam for example.

I don't have nexus but I do have a dcam. The problem with soft is that if they ever decide kicking it you're done. HW synth will last longer. Given you take care of it

HZ currently uses a pimped version of Zebra that combines some unusually great stuff, some of which not seen in any published product. So we're living in the comfortable situation: We have a blockbuster soundtrack composed as a stress test for a prototype software.

If all goes well it'll come out in December.

Just in time for Christmas

The virus is a lot of money for what is essentially a controller...

Sorry to burst your bubble Senor, but your logic is a little off there...

The HW synth will need servicing and upgrades are a funking nightmare...

'Spensive too

The HW synth is a "time capsule" and you are locked into whatever the specifics of the hardware is at the time of manufacture...

I'm not saying it can't be good, but the development of electronics moves so quickly that in no time flat you can end up owning a nice looking old dodo...

Darwin said,"That survival is dependent on the ability to adapt to change"

I agree with that sentiment - so I'll take the soft over the hard please

No, it's a self-contained VA hardware synth that can integrate with your computer via a software plugin/USB.
