I think Studio One has the nicest GUI out of all of the DAW's out there and would really prefer for nothing to change on that front. I'd like to see:
Better CPU efficiency/performance.
Mono busses.
Better tab to transient accuracy.
Better slicer accuracy.
Time signature track with blocks like Cubase.

What is going on? It's like they took it to a point where it's actually usable then everything stalled.

Are you one of their GUI designers ?
A GUI improvement is one of the primary things I would like to see in version 3.

I don't think that means nothing is going on. It may be more the case that we'll see new features in the 2.x cycle, which would be good because it would still be free.hibidy wrote:Nothing is coming anytime soon guys. A very honest source has pretty much said point blank nothing is happening and that guy who said what he did was wrong.
We'll have to wait and see I guess.
If you watch (vp of sales) Rick Navqi's latest YT interview, he directly says that they don't even care what everyone else (the competition on the hardware or software side) is doing and it doesn't even play into their decisions.

I don't think you're wrong.
He (the source you referenced) pretty much "suggested" that v3 isn't close. But that doesn't mean we might not get new stuff in the 2.x cycle. Keep hope alive.
And as Bitwig proved, "they will come" whenever it drops anyway.
Given that they just built a really sweet brand new office and studio complex, i don't think they're hurting for money... so... maybe no hurry.

Glad it seems to be on the way! Hope they have something good up their sleeve for numero 3.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

There's only (technically) six more weeks of summer. Aug 1 is "Autumn / Fall" so ... if they don't announce it pretty soon, it's probably not happening in "the late summer".

I hope they don't wait until namm though. It's been some time since we had any kinda update/fixes and feels a little dead. Again, nothing "pressing" is needed but I like to see a steady development.
