Set 30 uploaded on June 30 - 2013 containing 6 presets (129.9 MB) including:

Bowed Vibra Scape 02
Bowing a series of notes on a vibraphone which I had in my studio for one day and one night, then processing this recording with some spatial processors. The vibrato engine was activated during the recording. S1+2 both running in Non-Retrigger mode play different segments/spectral selections of the same sample. Bring in S1 with the Modwheel. Glide/Portamento is activated. Please check the Macro page to see how the 6 assigned Macros modify the sound.

Brass Animal
An upwards glissando through the natural harmonics played on a french horn with a wahwah mute was timestretched extremely to produce the sample for this patch. S1-3 play different spectral aspects and segments of this same long sample. The Modwheel adds temposynced amplitude modulation to all three oscillators, all LFOs running at different speeds. Please check the Macro page to see how the 6 assigned Macros modify the sound.

Hammering Harmonics
During a recent seminar at a university I found this old Steinway in the basement of the institute, before making some recordings with the students I played some harmonics with the left hand on the string and hammering the key with the right hand. S1-3 play different spectral aspects and segments of this same long sample, S1+2 are mapped up to C4 (C5 in Iris) and S3 is mapped from C3 (C4) upwards, playing very high notes only lets you hear the interesting loop playing in S3. S2 has a LFO assigned to pan position. Macros 1+2 control Reverb/Delay Mix, M3 adds fast square-shaped pitch modulation to S1.

Metahorn Drone Split
A sound I made in Alchemy using samples and resynthed derivatives of a metasynthed and waveshaped french horn swell. S1-3 play different spectral aspects and segments of this same long sample.
S1 is mapped up to C3 (C4 in iris) and S2+3 are mapped from C3 (C4) upwards. The Modwheel reduces the LP cutoff and reduces the send signals to the Delay FX (as this send is unfortunately pre-filter when you're running the FX section in Send mode). Macro 1 adds temposynced amplitude modulation to S1+2.

Polynesia
The sample used in this patch was made by resynthing a picture in Metasynth using the sample of banging against a metal pole with a wooden plank and tuning the resynthed data to a custom scale. S1+2 both play different segments/spectral selections of the same sample. The Modwheel adds a tad of pitch modulation to both oscillators, control the modulation speed with Macro 5. Please check the Macro page to see what the other 5 assigned Macros do to modify the sound.

Violin Abyss
A downward gilssando with natural harmonics on all 4 strings played on a violin, extremely timestretched. S1-3 play different spectral aspects and segments of this same long sample. The volume of S2+3 is assigned t the Modwheel, with the wheel down this patch is just a beautiful pad sound, the Abyss opens when you move the wheel up. As the root notes of the samples are very high, it will take some time to explore the entire sound composition. Add temposynced amplitude modulation to S1 with Macro 1 (x), M2+3 add fast random pitch modulation to S2+3.

There are now 194 patches in the subscription collection using 4+ Gigabyte of samples.

If someone is playing with the idea of joining the Iris subscription may I suggest to join the current group sale on patchpool. Level 3 is just around the corner and it adds a wild card for every user which can of course also be used to enter the Iris subscription.

Iris Subscription Set 31 - uploaded on July 17 - 2013 containing 7 presets (128.2 MB) including:

Big Droner
I produced the involved dronish sample with Zebra and various spatial processors, 100% wet. S1 one is mapped up to C3 (C4 in Iris) S2+3 running in Non-Retrigger mode are mapped over the entire range. The Sub-oscillator adds a square-wave with a very narrow spectral selection mapped from C3 (C4) upwards. The Modwheel adds temposynced amplitude modulaton to all sample oscillators. Reduce the LP filter cutoff with M2 (y), add slow filter modulation with M1.

Eternal Chord
An orchestral string section playing a chord from my recent composition Windschatten, recorded during a rehearsal. I extremely timestretched this audio snippet and did some other things to it as well. S1+2 play different segments and spectral aspects of the same sample. The Modwheel adds temposynced pitch modulation. M1+2 (x/y) control amount of Delay and Reverb FX.

Ethereal Outtake
An orchestral string section playing a slow transition from my recent composition Windschatten, recorded during a rehearsal. I extremely timestretched this audio snippet and did some other things to it as well. S1+2 play different spectral aspects of the same sample.The inverted Modwheel reduces LP filter cutoff. M1 adds Delay FX, M2 adds temposynced amplitude modulation, M3 controls Glide time for portamento effects.

Gutturality
S3 plays my own guttural voice effect, S1+2 play different segments and spectral aspects of a long, processed derivative of that voice sample. The Modwheel fades out S1+2 and adds distortion. Macros 1+2 (x/y) control amount and speed of random pitch modulation for S1+2. M3 for amount of Reverb FX, M4 controls the tone of the distortion when the Modwheel is up.

Partial Sequence
A modified Tremor loop from my Tremendous Beatz expansion running in Radius RT mode so the tempo is fixed to 105 BPM. S1+2 play different spectral selections of te same loop, bring in the bass accents in S2 with the Modwheel. Macros 1+2 (x/y) control amount of Delay and Reverb FX.

Punctuality
A repeating sequence I made with a new Chromaphone sound is playing in S1. Bring in noise-controlled pitch modulation with the Modwheel. Please check the Macro page to see how the 5 assigned Macros change the sound.

Seoul Palace Music
A field recording which I recorded in Seoul some years ago in front of a big palace where there was a parade taking place with drummers and other musicians in historic costumes and funny hats, with a guard shouting martially. S1 focusses on the shouting guard, it is running in "Fixed" mode (pitch not reacting to Midi), pitch is constantly modulated by a slow LFO. Transpose S1 up using Macro 1, distort it with Macro 2 (y). S2 running in Non-Retrigger mode focusses on the asian woodwind instrument which was soloing over the monotonous drumming, add random pitch modulation to S2 with Macro 3. S3 only plays the very low frequencies of the drumming, bring in S3 with the Modwheel.

The subscription price has been upped to € 65 Euros.

Here comes an impro track using a new Iris patch: "Female Vocal Trio Split" from the patchpool subscription series - set no. 32. Three vocal samples from a recent sampling session with the exceptional contemporary singer Frauke Aulbert, split across the keyboard, a strange Chorus on the Modwheel, some Delay+Reverb (all Iris), x/y-pad for pitch modulation effects (which I added later after I had played the impro in one go).

Demo for Iris patch "Factory Slam Loops" from the patchpool subscription series - set no. 32. Using 2 loops split across the keyboard, isolated from a field recording I made in a russian car factory in the assembly section. The combfiltering effects were achieved using Iris' on board delay, combfilter pitch and amount controllable with x/y-pad, Modwheel adds distortion. Some B2 reverb was added in the mix.
