Pianoteq 5 is out!

After using some libraries and continuining demoing Pianoteq I am really start to ahte the hassle of using libraries: tons GB used, limited mic options, slow load times (yeah I don't have an SSD but given how expensive they are it really adds up to the cost of library based pianos).
Only downside of pianoteq is the cost, hope they had sales from time to time.

Significantly better and Pianoteq is frequently updated and improved. Truepianos has an update that's been in the works for years.tristan- wrote:How's Pianoteq compared to Truepianos?
I used to own Truepianos. Once I bought Pianoteq, I never looked back. It's not the "be all, end all" of pianos, but it's a very good one. I play the piano and Pianoteq is one that gets the "feel" correct.
Pianoteq plus a few other character piano libraries would satisfy 99% of most piano needs.
All IMO of course. Both have demos, so give 'em a shot. I think Pianoteq's demo lets you try all of their add-on packs.

Both have great demo versions. I prefer Pianoteq it's much more versatile and better in every aspect.
PS. To be fair, the resale policy of Truepianos is top notch!

My opinion is the complete opposite, I think Pianoteq is TOTALLY plastic campared to TruePianos.

And did you check the latest version out? It's far from plastic, which indeed was the case in v2. But in v5... that is absolutely no longer the case. If you still think that v5 is like that, you're doing something wrong.

All models have been vastly improved from the early versions...

I know that second hand licenses of Pianoteq become NFR, but does anyone know if a Stage license has any other limitations for upgrading to Standrd or updating when a new version comes out?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm not sure if i understand your question right but upgrading would be the same as for a NFR version.
I don't know if a NFR version became transferable after upgrading (if that's what you meant).

Just the first part (for updates too), I suppose it still is NFR after upgrading.murnau wrote:I'm not sure if i understand your question right but upgrading would be the same as for a NFR version.

Yes, it's still NFR after upgrading.

Pianoteq is brilliant. I use the plugin all the time. But the standalone is also handy. For composing for examples... The sound doesn't getting boring like sampled piano's. And it records everthing I play!
Pianoteq misses some realness... or 'roughness'. Althought it can be programmed in Pianoteq Pro. I programmed the sound and playability of my own upright iBach piano. Does anyone know of a midi keyboard that viberates like a real piano. That would make the experience complete.

Real Pianos have more resonance and variation.
Sample pianos are more production ready and produced.
Pianoteq BEHAVES like a real instrument, and that's what matters here.
