If you mean 'zero cost', absolutely nothing. Im pointing out that it was basically asserted that all of a sudden it would retrospectively cost $250 to those who thought they were getting it free, a clear nonsense.

Its a zero-cost marketing thing, like many other such things in the plugin industry. Its a familiar enough tactic that I wouldnt have expected it to engender the kind of paranoia it has, but then again this is the interwebz.
If you genuinely think there's a risk, then pass on it until you're sure.

I think you're being misled by the 'its a trap' paranoia.

My main concern with all my plugins and work is recallability. I highly value being able to save and recall projects at the drop of a hat without concerning myself with bouncing things to audio just in case a plugin stops working etc. I'm trying to foresee whether this might be one of those types of affairs ie. will the license manager always work (never used ilok or anything like it before) or if it does have some kind of problem will the plugin still work etc. I guess my concerns might actually be more with the ilok side of things rather than the channel strip. Perhaps I should just get on with it and deal with any problems if they arise

Quick question regarding Ilok site registration.

I have an old ilok key (the transparent 'blue' one) with a couple of Motu instruments on it, which are currently NOT installed on any machine. Is it true that the ilok "registration" no longer supports that key?

I have to say I dont understand the need for channel strips in the ITB world.
Just add various EQ's, compressors, et al, in the chain and make your own.

I get it's more convenient, but it's literally only a couple of mouse clicks.

Perhaps I'm missing something though
