(Slightly off topic) I read that Queen used a DX7 for the intro strings for the song "One Vision" Anyone know what patch they used ? Because I am pretty sure that intro is not DX. It sounds more like a Roland MKS-80 or a JX10. Or even perhaps an Oberheim synth
Having owned and used a DX7 heavily - I have never heard a string patch like that (even when FX are added) I know Spike Edney used to do a lot of sound creating for Queen, but if so, why is that epic patch not on the web or in any of the available DX sysex banks ?
If anyone has that patch I would welcome it

I think it would be great to have MIDI-Learn. Apart from the GUI would be a big step in his development. Thank you again for Dexed. I use it constantly.

Has this gone to sleep now? No news for a while and no Sprint development on any 0.7 version. I hope this synth continues.
Oh and to answer my own post, Queen did not use a DX7 on One Vision, it may show that in the making of video, but I have now had it on good authority that it was another synth used and because the DX was popular at the time, Brian May had one MIDI'd up to another bit of kit

Summer holidays... yes !
I am working on the DX 'dirty' mode. Even if it is a digital machine, the DX7 (and DX100) had a lot of artifacts because the resources were limited. I'm still learning, so this version might take a little bit more time.
You don't see the sprint because I haven't committed anything yet.

Also, this guy has made some wonderful DX7 presets that he just asks a donation for. He uses MDE-X along with the patches in the youtube videos. Works in Dexed.Maomoondog wrote:ras.s wrote:

Generally that kind of issue with Linux is a C++ runtime dll which is missing or not at the last version (or is corrupted).stanlea wrote:I'm on linux and dexed crashes Tracktion. Any other people experienced that ?
You should try again after a reinstallation:

Yamaha still hosts the manuals and things related to the DX7 as well:

what version are you using ? You need to use 0.6.1, cause something has been specifically fixed for Tracktion. See the about box ...stanlea wrote:I'm on linux and dexed crashes Tracktion. Any other people experienced that ?
