Watching one of the videos right now and it looks like they added a racket view option on the right? Were you have the basic controls of the VST plug-in? And also pull up the full view of the plug-in? Does this work for third-party VST's as well?

for the Cubase 8 Pro PC windows resizing and open where you left off feature you have to have AERO enabled in Win 7.
confirmed on Steinberg Cubase 8 forum.
ugh. I hate AERO and have it turned off and view everything in classic mode.
guess I better start picking a theme.

Now THAT is useful information. Thanks. Duly noted if I should decide to bite. The plugin organization is one of the enticing things for me. Seems like a no-brainer that should have been there all along. Now I can (hopefully) stuff all of my freebies into a folder and not clutter everything when I choose a plugin or VSTi. Fortunately, my dropdown list is getting looooooong.MachineClaw wrote:for the Cubase 8 Pro PC windows resizing and open where you left off feature you have to have AERO enabled in Win 7.

The CPU/ASIO is greatly reduced!
And I can finally organize plugins my way!
So much coolness here. If Nectar comes through you guys won't see me for a while!

I have downloaded it but the installer didn't work! I manually installed cubase 8 but am now getting missing content in bass amp plug etc. ho hum.
I opened up cubase 8 to run a few tests to see how much better AISO performance was than 7.5, using Diva a got a very slight improvement....it was hard to tell as the performance monitor keeps varna shine behind the main window when I click on anything....
Only realy fiddled about with it for an hour, but it doesn't look or feel very different to me, small improvements.

Hopefully, they took a look at the red peak indicator on the VST meter literally staying lit all the time. I don't even see it anymore. It might be more useful (or of any use at all) if it had a short peak hold and then reset itself.

I have just got it running, took time as you have to set the plugin paths again. I am now struggling with the new layout, cannot seem to find a way of making the mixer channels wider, the old number box has gone
Actually discovered it is there but hidden, you have to enable it

also if the mixconsole has focus, just use G and H.Keith99 wrote:cannot seem to find a way of making the mixer channels wider

Maybe the "G" and "H" keyboard shortcuts are still enabled for that? I actually use those.

yes those work, thanks I never knew of them. Early days but I am not liking the new GUI, a lot of space is lost by having two window bars at the top and the track names text is unclear - still there are probably ways of customising it

I really like the new ability to change the HF and LF steepness and that they are drawn on the EQ curve
