I think i managed to make a decent kick and snare - check out the Kick A-F2 patch and Snare, which is designed to accompany it.
Rhythmic 3 layer patches are the most exciting to make, so i've done a few of those :)
Hope you enjoy :)
Very nice collection you got here. Thank you for sharing and hope to see more in future.

Yup, looks like we are going to have to work hard this time round!!! I should have run each instance of the VST in its own process in REAPER, then at least a VST crash would not have taken the whole REAPER session out. My bad really - but I was almost there so could not be bothered. I will check and see if this fixes the issue and report back
Oh my god. If I would have had such problems I would have given up for sure, you can believe me. I`m also impressed by your persistence. But it was worth the effort I would say. Your song is one of those which become better and better the more often one listen it. The first time I was confused  , the second time I started to like it :) , the third time I agreed to wagtunes: Cool 8) :tu:
Hey, thanks for this. Many of my tunes in the OSC seem to need many listens before people "get it". There is often a lot of stuff going on in them if you listen out.

e.g. in this one there is a "boing" like vibraslap thing going on with a left right pan/echo. There's even a few agogo percussion sounds happening at various key points.

Just wish I could make a better crash cymbal - still might do a hybrid crash/tambourine instead as the tambourine I have is not awful!!!
Intresting music here in this contest. I hope we will hear a lot of entries in addition.

Cheers Yvonne
Yes, for sure. Such a wealth of talent here, and all making their own brand of music. Certainly make for a great set of challenges!

No, the "Main Audio Driver". While i know it is not the optimal, i have no hardware attached and so i don't care about latency between hardware/sound generation. Also, it always have been stable and allows to switch between loudspeaker and headphones (which are 2 different "soundcards", the latter being in reality the HDMI output to the monitor) without any intervention.

Eclipsis is the only VST that's caused this problem
Ooops, okay. Then I am at a loss :( I hope you neverthless enjoy the rest of the OSC, at least you can discover cool new music :D

Eclipsis randomly "mute" FLStudio, i have to close and relaunch it. I guess it messes with the audio buffers or something similar.... FL is just muted (while it shows the meters going) no matter what i do.
Having this in FL too, mostly every time I mess with a FM parameter. The GUI glitches out constantly as well. I'll try it again later though.
That`s exactly the same I already described at the Eclipsis thread once and also the reason why I used the FM only very seldom for my presets. It sucks if you make your adjustments, decide to use FM and Eclipsis freezes without a chance to save the patch at least as it was until this stage. But it happened not all the time and so sometimes I had luck and could make a few patches with FM too. I use Cubase.

My tip: Make the patch, save it and then try to add FM. For the case that Eclipsis freezes you have at least saved your basic patch before  That`s how I tried it.

I will answer the other posts later. I`m at work and so I just can answer partially.

Which is not a fault. I like such music and when I will have more offtime again, my plan was to listen what else you had posted in addition at soundcloud. It`s refreshing to listen something different.

Thanks for the detailed info. Must have been the "boing" I which has caught me  No, I`m just kidding  It is rather the whole composition and arrangement which is simply interesting.

THIS ^^^ made my day!
"Run as Dedicated process" helped avoid freezing Reaper on closing the project.
Thank you very much for mentioning that!

Hi

I have checked this out, and indeed the VST is MUCH MUCH happier when run in a dedicated process. Not sure what effect this might have on memory requirements. I suspect then that maybe there's a certain amount of shared code between multiple instances running "normally", and something just upsets things, a memory leak, pointer corruption or something like that.

So, the advice is for all REAPERites, is to run it in a dedicated process, and all will me mostly well.

I am now going to have a little re-work of my bass patch and its mixing - not quite enough punch in it, but again, it still needs to be quite subtle in my track. Probably go for EQ-ing up the low and sub part of the bass - better to "growl" rather than "punch" too hard!

Glad to be of help ... not sure what other DAW users can do ...

I was playing with Photonic drumkit, making some test beats. This is really nice kit and I'm already in love with it  . I decided to make short "background melody" for this test so I created very short tune named Good morning. Everything is Eclipsis.

4 instances of Eclipis for beat (Photonic kick1 kick2, snare1 and closed HH)
7 instances of Ecipsis for "background melody" (modified presets from default and V2 preset bank)
Amplio 2 on send FX track for beat and another instance of Amplio 2 for one of those instruments used.
DAW limiter on master FX track. No other FXs used. It is not made to join OSC. It is just Photonic drumkit test and for me to have some fun.

Trojak,

This track is awesome. Why not submit it?

I also checked out the track "Disorder" on your soundcloud. Holy s**t, that track is bangin'. The strings remind me of classic detroit techno, but that huge big beat sound puts it somewhere else. Really good production. I want to hear more from you.

Yep. I agree. The funniest thing is: He calls his awesome tracks just: Eclipsis VST test1, Eclipsis Presets Bank 2 and such........ Really no one would expect such great tracks with this description

@TrojakEW: Don`t be shy, submit it *chaining and dragging* :D Is Disorder also made with Eclipsis only? I love it!!! There`s a great power into it. To be honest I like all your tracks very much. Cool music. You should compose and record more often  Forget Synthesizer developing, make music!!!!

Concerning the drums of Photonic: Yes they are great, I also added his drums to my work in progress contest track. But I put a bit reverb on the snare and I also think the drums sound really great :)

Im not going to join OSC. I do this stuff just for fun and as a relaxation.

I did not expect that anybody says somthing nice about this lame production  I have added few "new" tracks to my soundcloud. No really new because they were made in time span from 2006 to 2013. I have made hundrudres of that s**t already.

Mojo42: My vst development skill sucks as much as music making. I dont really have a clue what I'm really doing. But I do enjoy it :D It's just that I have some ideas in mind and I'm trying to make them real.

I am glad you like my drums! And you used them correct :tu:
I think it would not be against the rules, when the Synth-developer joins the OSC. You would be very wellcome!

It would actually make the challenge more interesting, trying to beat the developer with his own synth :hihi:

I have to disagree :o
Your music making definitely shows promise! :)
And your vst skills... Eclipsis is imo a great synth with some superb ideas very well implemented. I am having great fun playing with it. The interface is particularly good, tabbed layout for Oscs, routing and effects is highly intuitive and easy to use. I find it stable on my system (though it maxes the cpu at 10 instances) I also really like that you can save settings for each osc, routing, and effects bank. Other Devs could learn from this! Also it really sounds great!
so i say keep up the good work :tu:

According the philosophy of Daoism this is the perfect state of mind for to achieve great results. You proved that Daoism is damned right :D

Keep it up to be "unknown", but joyful that produces cool synthesizers and cool songs. At the moment I don`t have got the time for to listen your other songs now, but I will do it later.
