Hardware isn't necessarily analogue... but at least on stage, I would guess that there are more hardware synths used than software. The advantages are obvious.basslinemaster wrote:I totally agree. I really can't understand how companies are getting away with selling (often monophonic) and crappy sounding 'analogue' hardware synths nowadays, why are people buying them? Do they really think they sound better than anything they can do with umpteen different VSTs today? Then add on all the hassles of hardware - the physical size of the thing, recording the output, inability to run multiple instances of it - duh - it's hardware! - etc. I am so constantly amazed at the quality of the sounds that my VSTs can produce, and that I can just open a song in FL Studio and everything is loaded, perfectly, no set up, no plugging in cables, no hardware taking up half my bedroom - I can't imagine why people would use hardware nowadays.Teksonik wrote: My point that many of those classic analog synths you cherish so much would have been replaced in a heartbeat by VSTi instruments if they were available at the time is valid and stands as written.
As for analogue, it has sonic characteristics that digital cannot match. Analogue and digital make a good combo.

Appearances are often deceiving.........you should know that Lotuzia doesn't like me and often takes shots at me in a weak effort to troll. To be honest I don't like him either so this type of exchange has been going on for awhile. But no matter he always surrenders.........sfd wrote:That appears more as an expression of your restraints then about anything else.Teksonik wrote:Hey you picked a fight with me. You can make as many lists as you want - we're not in the U-he forum here, so likely that list is a waste of time and effort.fluffy_little_something wrote:So, when will the new version be released?
Let's make a little list of features they should add or improve(But only reasonable features that don't change the character of the synth.)
I'll start:
- Ability to lock individual parameters across parts.
- Ability to save and load individual parts (after all, S1 is basically two synths in one, so it would be cool to be able to combine two different 1-part patches; this could also be randomized if the part folder were integrated).
- Turning Mod Enf 1, LFO 1, and Misc 1 into part-specific envelopes, LFO's and misc sections (Mod Env A and B, LFO A and B, Misc A and B), so that what is currently Mod Env 2, LFO 2, and Misc 2 become global envelope, LFO and misc sections without number. This would increase the number of each category from 2 to 3, and it would make sense to give each part above all its own envelope (default setting filter cutoff).
- PW knob per osc so that one does not have to waste an entire part in order to get one pulse wave.
- More modulation targets, e.g. individual envelope stages.

I would really like to see this function, in Hybrid 3 (and I think in Vacuum Pro, but I've only used it briefly due to lack of time), you have this function, and it's really useful for making new sounds, for those of us who aren't very good at editing synths. (Like me.)fluffy_little_something wrote:So, when will the new version be released?

I think you are asking for the sole purpose of dismissing any answer given... but pardon me if that is not correct.Teksonik wrote:Such as ?pdxindy wrote:As for analogue, it has sonic characteristics that digital cannot match.

Opposing different musical instruments is very far from the spirit of music imo. I have both hw and sw synths. And could not be happier
