Enjoy and yes, that was necessary. I'll probably add this feature for all my plugins.
Very nice!

Will download later today.... This is very good news. :)

Fog should have loaded just the first two channels of that aif, I'll look into that, but for now Fog supports mono and stereo files only.
jk-cream2 wrote:A question about warmverb - I seemed to have worked out that the preset I like actually has 260hz amplitude modulation. Is that possible with an impulse response file? I have to tried to sample it with a sinewave sweep and to deconvolve it with the amplitude modulation preset (from warmverb) but I don't think the impulse response included it (the amp modulation)? Is it possible to build that sort of modulation inside fog?
Convolution is "static", you can't capture non-linear systems such as distortion, chorus, flanger, phaser etc. You can capture spaces for reverbs or impulses responses of linear systems, kinda like an EQ "picture".
Fog doesn't have any modulation inside, but you can always apply a modulation plugin after (or before) it.

Fun, easiness and joy. Things that I never found with any other convolution reverbs. Simple as that.

My clumsy & elaborate Reverberate is seriously collecting dust now...

Good work AudioThing crew, you perfectly nailed it :tu:

This is really cool, negligible CPU hit and very creative, nice one. How is Ireland treating you ? I remember on VI Control when you were moving over. I live in Dublin.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner! I was super busy working on a new plugin that I will announce very soon. (but don't worry, I still have updates for Fog...)

Thank you, that's exactly why I made Fog!

Very good actually, it's 2 years and a half now and I really like it here (I'm in Dublin as well), especially for the business (Italy is a mess between taxes and bureaucracy). I'm not sure if I'll stay here forever, but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be doing this job now if I had stayed in Italy.

Nice piece of ambient music...

Just in case,i've sent to your company a little request for the evaluation of a IRs sample library that seems to match exactly the focus of your plugin (creative purposes)
I'll be glad to have your feedback...

We had some fun creating unusual reverbs with Fog Convolver.

Watch it here:
By experience, the more the signal in the IR sample reach some characters that reminds a white noise (whatever is it structural texture) the more the restitutions of the timbre of the incoming signal remains unchanged or still recognizable in most time
In the contrary, a single sine wave as IR for instance, will totally impose it timbre whatever is the incoming signal

hope that helps for anyone's investigation...

Exactly, the more harmonic content is inside the impulse, the more it will sound like a reverb (if long enough). Vice versa it will sound more like a "resonator".

BTW, here a collection of free samples...
( i've made originally for the kvr challenge 2012, http://www.kvraudio.com/product/the-pen ... er/details)

... but too big i'm afraid to be uploaded in the kvr database

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qk6fbnkbbciak ... t.zip?dl=0

i invite you to check them out, this Fog Convolver plugin seems to be one, if not the most appropriate to handle them creatively

P.S. A renewed commercial version should be published at middle term by Dangerous Bear Underground, i suggest for those interested though, to wait until it release rather than purchase it initial one ("Deep Spaces") : http://www.dangerousbear.com/dbsig.html

That's cool, thanks. I'll check them later.
We are actually working on a few banks for Fog, mainly hardware IRs.

Update!
We've updated Fog Convolver to v1.2.0!
To update, please go to http://www.audiothing.net/updates/

We've also added a free impulse response bank, Vintage Mics.
It features 40 impulse responses of vintage microphones from 20 manufactures. Mostly ribbon microphones from the 30s to the 70s. To import the bank in Fog, just click on the + button below the Bank list and then on Add existing Bank.
Courtesy of the Microphone Impulse Response Project.

List of new features/fixes:
– Start/End now works in samples, milliseconds, or percentage
– AIFF bank import enabled
– Up to 4x Faster Loading/Updating time
– Added function to save Default Preset
– Added Mono->Stereo channel configuration
– Fixed crash if no bank is installed
– Fixed filters input values (now works with both Hz and kHz values)
– Fixed Dry/Wet input values
