I feel the same way about P900. Up there with Monark for me, better than Diva too. More people need to hear this, its very special.

Ive had all versions of P900 working in Ableton 9.6.1.

Sorry I can't find the discussion on vst version a few pages ago. I would love VST version as I never use my AU plugins and I always forget to look through them (I have all my synths in my VST 'synth' folder ready to go).

That's fantastic feedback! In my own (biased) opinion, with the transistor ladder filter it sounds extremely close to my '73 minimoog. My mos-lab rig sounds a little different.

What I mentioned earlier was that a VST version should be available sometime next year.

It sounds like a Live 8 specific issue, or do you also have problem loading it in other DAWs? If you don't have any, could try it out in the free Hosting AU: http://ju-x.com/Hosting%20AU.html

Only problem with this host is it doesn't enable you to change presets easily (just using the numerical box)

Yep. It's not the most convenient, but it is possible to also drag & drop presets from the preset folders.

I was thinking it's because there are no aupresets but I just checked and there are some so I was trying to work out why they only show in Logic's (and other au hosts) dropdown preset menu but not the library - it looks like they are in the wrong location - the factory presets are here:

\Library\Audio\Presets\Pulsar Modular\P900PGM\Bank 0

but for Logic etc to show them in the library they need to be here:

\Library\Audio\Presets\Pulsar Modular\P900

They are not standard AU presets. Normally, AU factory presets are meant to be hardcoded and not editable. I set it up this way because the factory presets are also MIDI programs so you could still overwrite them using the MIDI/CV converter "store" button. Perhaps confusing.

Since 1.0.6 version, I can no longer turn the dial to 4 positions of the MIDI / CV / CONVERTER element.
Otherwise, it changes position with the various patches but not with the mouse !

The root issue is due to defects, on Yosemite (10.10), in the OS X graphics lib the P900 is using. That lib is part of OS X and these problems are not there on either Mavericks (10.9) or El Capitan (10.11). Not sure I can find a way to work around them.

That said, the only thing that changed since 1.04 that could have some effect is default settings for the UseLayers option. You might want to grab the 1.07 build I posted this morning and try flipping this flag (from the context menu).

When I check the "User Layers" option, I have an all white GUI; I don't understand the usefulness of this option and have not found a solution in the P900 manual .

The usefulness is in OS/host compatibility. With one binary image being used across 3 OS versions and multiple DAWs, where some need different settings for this flag, it's not possible for me to test all scenarios. So while it has reasonable defaults, you can also change it (and it is persisted per host).

The manual still reflects 1.0. I need to update it.
