I've been following the discussion and am really pleased with the response to Seventh Heaven and Seventh Heaven Professional. It's the strongest LiquidSonics release to date. Despite a lot of existing customers having got on board already, I'm not yet satisfied about the number of Reverberate 2 customers that feel the introductory period discount for Seventh Heaven Professional is insufficient. I'm listening, and making a change.
As of now, the discount a Reverberate 2 user receives has increased by 150% from £20 to £50. So combining that with the introductory discount of £50, that's a total saving of £100 (which is £1 more than Reverberate 2 currently retails for).
Until 14 May Seventh Heaven Professional costs £199 for new customers and £149 for existing Reverberate 2 customers.
After 14 May Seventh Heaven Professional will cost £249 for new customers and £199 for existing Reverberate 2 customers.
All Reverberate 2 customers that have already bought Seventh Heaven Professional (or the bundle) will be reimbursed the £30 difference (please allow until midweek for those to be processed, and get in touch at the end of next week if it looks like you've been missed off the list).
Matt
ps. I'm anticipating potential questions on a change of policy on iLok, sorry that won't be happening if you were wondering.

I'm pretty torn by this, the sound is great but they seem a bit boutique.
As a new customer the pro version would cost me $250 bucks. I can get R4 from Exponenential, which I can set to sound nearly identical. E.g. A lot more flexibility imho. I stress "nearly" here, for $100 less ATM.
Anyway a conundrum, I'll probably at least grab the regular version. But for someone like me who really doesn't need precise emulations of dream hardware, to make the choice for 7hp is a difficult one.
Just another take for you to consider.
Congrats on the release.

For sure you don't need every premium reverb, enjoy making your decisionpekbro wrote:I'm pretty torn by this, the sound is great but they seem a bit boutique.

Fair enough, it's your business. I was disappointed to find it's dongle-only but with the Focusrite R2 giveaway and now this Seventh Heaven, I have never been more tempted to get a hardware iLok - infact I never even considered it before until recently. Ahh well... can't beat 'em/join 'em etc.liquidsonics wrote: ps. I'm anticipating potential questions on a change of policy on iLok, sorry that won't be happening if you were wondering.

I've always wanted to listen and respond where I can. I can't please everybody every time, but when I can I try to be a good guy in most people's eye.

Have you been thinking about a bundle 7HP+Rev2? Right now new customers have to buy Rev2 first then upload the license to get the discount. It would be a bit easier with the bundle.liquidsonics wrote:I've always wanted to listen and respond where I can. I don't intend to formally bundle software that uses different copy protection, it will eventually only end up confusing people. A little hoop jumping I know but at least it's less likely to mislead anybody that way.dktn wrote:Have you been thinking about a bundle 7HP+Rev2? No way R4 sounds nearly identical, they are not even close. I'm currently spending hours trying to get similar sound from Nimbus and R4 to some 7HP presets, but I have to give up, it's basically impossible (but Nimbus is bit closer than R4). So all this flexibility of R4/Nimbus doesn't help. Generally 7HP is much more transparent, lush and smooth to my ears.pekbro wrote:I'm pretty torn by this, the sound is great but they seem a bit boutique.

Take some material with snare, hi-hat and the difference will be obvious. Especially 100% wet and pre-delay behaviours are totally different.
Btw pre-delay behaviour looks like a decisive point for me. It behaves completely different than all other plugins I'm currently testing (LX480, R4/Nimbus, Valhalla VV, SIR2+M7 impulses). It very naturally smooths outs the initial part. To my surprise the default presets sound indistinguishable to SIR2 with free M7 impulses after matching the levels (I really wanted to notice the difference), but tweaking 7HP is when magic starts.

Can you discuss this more specifically? I'm not sure that I want 7HP TBH, but I'd love to hear more detail to help make that decision.dktn wrote:To my surprise the default presets sound indistinguishable to SIR2 with free M7 impulses after matching the levels (I really wanted to notice the difference), but tweaking 7HP is when magic starts.

@dktn
Focus on v2 presets, it's easier to hear the difference from static. For v1, the main difference is in the vlf and earlies. So focus your listening tests there.
Yeah R4 and Nimbus aren't even close to the sound in my opinion. I'm not drawing a judgement there, people will prefer which ever they like, but I disagree they're similar. Particularly on the early reflections, low frequency tightness/realism, and density aspects. YMMV but I don't recall a lot of discussion from M7 owners about how much those plugins sound like an M7 before.

@dktn
Yeah I'm certainly no reverb expert, maybe I don't really know what to listen for.
That's just how I hear it. I also didn't spend hours comparing them btw.
*shrugs.

The default presets will sound the same as Bricasti impulses loaded to SIR2 and I believe Reverberate 2 too (and other true-stereo convolvers). There are multiple knobs to tune the sound on 7HP which are IMO justifying the purchase, like: decay, pattern selection, pre-delay, delay, roll-off freq and early/late mixer (some from Advanced Settings panel). To me the most interesting is pre-delay which behaves unlike any other plugin I know, and can transform the starting sound to something very different and matching your needs better. So from limited set of impulses 7HP opens the door to unlimited sounds which sound very convincingly (I don't know how they compare to the hardware though).ghettosynth wrote:Can you discuss this more specifically? I encourage you to download the demo and try it yourelf tweaking the knobs I mentioned, especially early/late mixer and pre-delay.
Purely soundwise it looks like my goto reverb, it just sounds so good, in most of cases better than other plugins I mentioned before.

The difference against SIR2 is the living breathing sound of the Fusion-IR capture and playback, the modulation sits it with the source more organically and brings it way more close to an algorithmic sound that blends rather than sitting next to it.
