What would you rather hear: bad indy protest rock, half-assed sedentary trip-hop, crummy latin-tinged lo-fi, dodgy electro-space folk or sloppy IDMental? Not that it would sound anything like the aforementioned styles. I don't do styles very well. I'm just feeling ambivalent.
i'd like to hear a trip-hoppish thingy from you

Well I've got a start on something but it's got a lyric and lopes along at about 70 BPM. I don't know if I can even get through the first verse in two minutes... I'm not much of a rapper - more of a mumbler... But maybe I'll post it later when I get it near done.

Sounds very World Musicky. Reminds me of stuff that came out in the early/mid 80's, I used to quite like some of it (still do tbh!). The percussion is just right, and the organ is effective with the vox. The PanPipe(?) is hilarious (in a good way). I really liked this.
58% of a cup of tea, is it enough to have a safe drink??? :-o

thanks for the nice comment. the world music feel may be due to the 3/4 time sig and traditional chords progression?

cheers

trip-hop is not always something that needs rapping - just use your falseto voice and sing like a dark diva, with warmness, mystery and sensuality. :-o :D

Yeah, right!

(PS: I have heard that in many languages two negatives may equal a positive, while in others it's either just plain wrong or still a negative, but "yeah, right" is one of the only examples in any language where two positives equal a negative! ...Just thought you'd like to know. :hihi:)

I'm working on a tribute to Sleek. :D

I had heard that there was a Philosophy Lecture from the University of Ohio which made the double positive thing famous about 10 years ago! However a google has suggested that it was Columbia, MIT, New York... Urbane Myth or weel twooth?

ANYWAY:
Whatever you go for, try to follow the rules for arranging you suggested a month or two back. I'd be interested to see how it goes!

DP...

I noticed your CoT scoring systems produces very acurate numbers! 48%,52%,58%,42%,85%. 8). Pretty amazing!, is there a system?...... I have problems scoring songs from 1-5... let alone -100 and 100! :)

I heard the story was true but it was a linguistics lecture. The man who said it was Sidney Morgenbesser who died recently - and I heard the story related in an interview with one of his friends on the radio.

You mean this crap? I did that for the ol' sci-fi thing and I didn't win big so I'm not sure what the merits were.  I do actually follow those rules all the time but my usual fare just doesn't support much layering or orchestrating.

Well I can do it. You™. See? I don't know how you do it exactly on the PC because I did it initially on a Mac. It's simply Option-2 or something. Oh here it is: ALT+0153. Jeez, that's a lot of keys to press to make a dumb symbol.

easiest was is to open word/etc, insert a symbol, select 'TM' from the ASCII chart, copy to clipboard, paste where needed!
