I wanted to dislike this one, because it has everything I hate : this sh*tty "simply copy the past" syndrome and the 70's era stamp. But in the end the demos sound awesome ! I'll demo it if the price is right.

I don’t even know if you’ll have to wait that long! PA has really gotten into the habit of having these 24-72 hour blowout sales where something ridiculously expensive goes for $49-69. I can see where the pick-pack customers get frustrated. They’re on the pay-monthly for 20 plugins-plan, and then PA practically gives some of those plugins away on certain weekends

Yeah, noticed that if you hold back a few months, you'll get most new releases for peanuts compared to the RRP, and way below the heavy hitters price.W23 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 9:08 pm I don’t even know if you’ll have to wait that long! I'm sure this synth can make a whole array of sounds but most of the demos seem to be retro sounds for times I feel no nostalgia for, so I think I'll hold out to see what UA have to offer and then wait a few months til that finally hits a price I can tolerate.

Sounds nice. Takes a lot of CPU though, even with one oscillator, and 1 voice. Could be that, like other emulations, it calculates the whole circuit at all times. Filter is very nice, i can't hear much of a difference to Diva's Uhbie filter. There's some kind of "smudge" on the attack phase of the filter envelope, which seems to be random, as if the attack phase often doesn't start at zero. Guess they modelled that after the hardware. Only ADS envelopes, which is a bit of a bummer.
Overall, i'd say that the Oberhausen filter is a bit more Oberheim-ish (that typical "spacey", airy sound of the filter when you modulate it with a long filter decay time). I always found that the Uhbie filter in Diva could be a tad smoother, but, it's a minor difference.
Oh, and the Diva envelopes are more snappy. I'll probably get slapped for this, but, that's how it is.
