What's your 'go to' distortion/saturation plugins?

Cassiopeia is superb and an absolute bargain at €19 not in your face but just does something really nice.

Only problem is that TBProAudio's GSatPlus do the exact same thing - and for free.

I think that the problem is not its (mild but wild !) core features or even its sound. for me the problem is the notion of having too many processors to choose from (or even be aware of them!), which clogs my thought process.

In the case of Cassiopeia, I, too, was able to nail the exact same outcome (GSatPlus<->Cassiopeia free).

Again, nowadays it's not about how much does it cost. it's all about how quickly and effortlessly one can replicate a given processor sound outcome (or in the ballpark - close enough to essentially not matter)... and saving oneself from having another tool (read: DL for free or buying for money) in our ever-growing toolbox.

I can't match what Cassiopeia is doing with GSatPlus, or any other saturator plugin that I have or have tried, so to each their own. I would recommended for people who are not (quite, or at all) happy with ITB saturation/coloration solutions to try Cassiopeia, it might work for them. It certainly worked for me, for the first time there is such plugin that I genuinely like.
BTW, there is no free version, it's demo which wont save settings in project.

Wow, funny how opinions differ. I tried GSatPlus and deleted not long after. Cassiopeia on the other hand....

If you mean the demo version, from the website, "no parameter linking/saving to DAW project" ie. it won't save your settings.

I'm quite fond of izotope alloy 2 as far as saturation goes.

I could. and I did it on separate days, to ensure my ears were not tricking me (as I really wanted to want Cassiopeia)

Luckily, we live in an era where one can choose to saturate different parts of the whole stereo information ('kno wha ah mean ? )

I tried to like Redoptor 2 a lot of times an never found anything special. At least with my material. I do not have any guitar sounds to process. I love d16 usually. In which cases do you like it?
