Is putting a mixer in the standalone version of Rapid Composer in your plans?

I would like to use my own reverbs rather than the ones that come with my sample libraries.

Time signature is a great addition so thanks for that.

The promise of groove templates is very exciting and will take RC to another level in my opinion.

Yes, the signature affects lots of things from displaying the timeline and timecodes to generating phrases, harmonization, many areas. Until now one beat was always a quarter note, from now it can be anything, so the source code had to be modified a lot.
I'd appreciate if you use the signature heavily. Today I have fixed the timeline selection which also broke because of the new signature handling.

Yes, I have plans to implement better audio routing, and using effects. My plans are to outsource all audio and plug-in handling to an external plug-in host application. It would be cool to host VST3 plug-ins, and maybe Audio Units on macOS.
These are not short term plans. You will get the groove templates much sooner, which is about 4-5 days of work, after v4.0.

Awesome.. I did notice something right off the bat, sort of speaking.. You will need to modify the drop down for the phrase lengths in the phrase browser. The new time signatures should reflect there too.. haven't looked at the inspectors yet..

edit: If you can get the browser's bar length settings to match the time signature, I think that would fix that part of the browser.. Meaning, If the time signature was 6/8, set the length of one bar to that time division.. then you could reuse that anywhere in the program too..

It is not a single phrase that you can delete, but many small phrases joined together:



It is basically a 'virtual' phrase that is the result of gluing multiple phrases.
If you select or drag such a phrase, the change is applied to only the first one. We can discuss if it should behave differently but this is not high priority at the moment.

Thanks for v4b7!

I'm observing a problem after loading a track using Ctrl-Shift-H. The final phrase cannot be deleted, but merely shifts over when I try.

if i get it correctly,
open Track inspector go to Variations tab and just disable/Bypass the Join Notes variation

Hi - Just looking quickly at v4.0b7... seeing some dodgy 'zoom' behaviour using the scroll bar at the bottom of the main Composition page (click and drag right-hand edge). Do it slowly; keep click-dragging left then right then left, play around a little and watch the display... Just not as responsive as I would expect...

The Composition is just 3 tracks, one folder and only 8bars long at this stage... Am not using the default theme but the Orange (Yellukhan.?) designed one (if that affects anything)...

Maybe just me..?


Also, can we detach the right-hand panel and have it floating like we used to..?

RapidComposer v4.0b8 is available!

Improvements:

• 'Toggle Divisions' is back with a twist: use triplet and 8th note triplet to get more interesting patterns
• New chord and scale selectors used in the phrase inspector, Chord page
• Fixed: loop did not work with other signatures than 4/4
• Fixed a deadlock when importing a V3 composition file
• Small changes and fixes in saving/loading phrases and compositions
• Fixed resizing phrases
• Rhythm fixes in the Ostinato generator

quick test..
i think something wrong with the
"Insert Chord Note Every:.." vs Rhythm Length ?
phrase does looping but seems insert chord note stops after 4 beat (Rhythm Length)
please see the pic.
