Seriously? How does this make even the slightest difference to your purchasing decision? Until you pointed it out and made me look, I hadn't even noticed (and I get paid to notice shit like that).briefcasemanx wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 4:32 amConsidering buying this. Is the GUI changing at all for final release? The wood grain looks kinda bad like the same pattern was copy/pasted in photoshop but slightly misaligned. Is it possible to do your own custom reskin of Tone2 synths?
Available now: Tone2 Saurus4 analog synthesizer

Did I say it would affect my purchase decision? I just said it looked kinda bad.BONES wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 1:26 amSeriously? If the skins are easily customizable I'd just spend like an hour and fix it in photoshop.

I quite like it with dark panels (and a bit more contrast) like Rayblaster. @Markus is it possible to include 2x images and display 2x PPI when detecting retina? See how the large skin on right is much crisper on retina when scaled down in Mac preview versus the small skin.

I really like Saurus and around 7 years ago I used it in an OSC here on KVR. It was a "Any One Synth" OSC (OSC #60). I chose Saurus even though I have many others.

Just out of interest and because it fits in this thread... does anyone use Saurus 2 frequently and has found something that makes this synth unique?
I have had Saurus 1 and 2 for a while now but as I mentioned I hardly use it. I'm not sure about the Saurus 3 demo either.

Is it possible to disable the zooming from your host's side? If yes you should do this and in Saurus select 'GUI big' in 'Config' to get a crisp image.db3 wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 10:03 am I quite like it with dark panels (and a bit more contrast) like Rayblaster. @Markus is it possible to include 2x images and display 2x PPI when detecting retina? The upgrade to Saurus3 is free. Sound quality has enhanced drastically. I've also added lots of new patches (the factory-content of Saurus1/2 wasn't that great).4damind wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 10:17 am Just out of interest and because it fits in this thread... does anyone use Saurus 2 frequently and has found something that makes this synth unique?

That's very generous of you Markus. I'm really looking forward to checking it out. I always thought Saurus was a bit of an underrated gem. It definitely deserves more praise imo.

I like the overall sound of it, but here are some other features I like.4damind wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 10:17 am Just out of interest and because it fits in this thread... does anyone use Saurus 2 frequently and has found something that makes this synth unique?

The arp/gate has some cool features and can be assigned to other targets in the matrix.
There are two LFOs and the 3 envelopes amp/filter/aux), but you can also assign basic decay envelopes and sine LFOs from the matrix.
F/A lets you add some FM or AM noise and you can add white or brown noise using the matrix.

Not that I can see. I think Ableton enabled that option for Windows only. For Mac I assume devs are providing a standard set of images which support 1x and 2x PPI and the plugin automatically selects the most appropriate. Tone2 plugins don't look terrible on retina screens but they would look much nicer with hi-ppi.Markus Krause wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 11:06 amIs it possible to disable the zooming from your host's side? Then you must be pretty shitty at your job eh? I noticed too and don't get paid to notice shit like that.BONES wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 1:26 amSeriously? Frank, In a nutshell there is nothing unique, you have answered your own question.4damind wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 10:17 am Just out of interest and because it fits in this thread... does anyone use Saurus 2 frequently and has found something that makes this synth unique?

Your doubts are not unfounded imo.

I see what you mean. Currently hi-dpi works for all fonts and the controllers of the knobs. I'll check out if i can find a way to support it also with the background-image of the small size GUI. The current library I use does not support it. Maybe I can find a trick.db3 wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 12:24 pmNot that I can see. I think Ableton enabled that option for Windows only.
