Definitely can in Live, DP11, and Reaper. I would be surprised if Cubase, Studio One, and Sonar couldn't save tracks like this? In DP at least you can save with or without MIDI and audio etc.antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 9:12 am Can you? I've no idea how to save multiple tracks as a single preset in anything else than Bitwig (where you group them and save the meta-clip) and I consider myself to be quite versed in most popular DAWs on Windows.

the question is not just about saving tracks like this.
unify saves these in a database and you can tag these presets, give description etc.
then you can search by filter tags, or text search.
moreover unify can load these presets into other presets different ways.

Yes, in Live you can select and drag them into the Browser, in DP you select and save them as Clips, which you can save in the Content Browser in its own folder etc. I can't be bothered to figure it out in Reaper, but no doubt there's some method you can use that involves a script and two more steps than the others but it's Reaper so it's obviously better because if you know how to program scripts....antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:29 pmMULTIPLE tracks as ONE preset?machinesworking wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:16 pmDefinitely can in Live, DP11, and Reaper. but here's another thing i miss from daws and i have in unify:
when i have 2 track that has midi input, and track1 react to midi velocity range 1-60
and track2 reacts to midi velocity range 61-127 ,
why can't we have this info shown ( and able to set) in the track header(e.g: 1-60, 61-127)?
the same thing about keymapping! in the track header this also could be shown( for example c2 - g8)

Because it's maybe three people that need to see the velocity settings of specific tracks. Hardly anyone out there needs or sets up two VSTi's to respond to specific velocity ranges, then to be able to see that in a track header. It's just a totally bizarre thing to think it's necessary at all.dune_rave wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:44 pm but here's another thing i miss from daws and i have in unify:

Just to be clear, they're saved as .als files in Live, basically parts of a Set, so making a folder for it is necessary, but in all regards the settings and/or MIDI files are able to be dragged into any Live Set like a preset etc. In Reaper it's Track Presets, and in DP it's Clippings. Not sure about Logic, Cubase, Sonar, Pro Tools, but I seriously doubt that it would be so common in more than 50% of the DAWs out there for years and not be possible in those major DAWs.antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 9:04 pmThanks!machinesworking wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:36 pmYes, in Live you can select and drag them into the Browser, in DP you select and save them as Clips, which you can save in the Content Browser in its own folder etc.antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:29 pmMULTIPLE tracks as ONE preset?machinesworking wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:16 pmDefinitely can in Live, DP11, and Reaper. Cloud Synchronization
I hope that all DAWs will leave the year 2000 and finally Cloud Synchronization will be implemented.
I really don't understand why this is not integrated for favorites and sounds, controller templates, etc..
To be honest, I actually expect this from a quite expensive software.

I can do all that in Bitwig.dune_rave wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:32 pm the question is not just about saving tracks like this.

In Bitwig that info, if I am using the Note Filter to filter a track, is visible in the Device Pane at the bottom. That is where I want infrequent info so it is readily available but not taking up space on every track header.dune_rave wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:44 pm but here's another thing i miss from daws and i have in unify:

Reason's Combinator can literally layer as many synths, samples etc. as you want and make them a coherent playable single instrument.antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 9:12 amCan you? I get the convenience of a plug in, but almost every DAW I've used allows the saving of a bundle of tracks, and plug in chains on a track etc.antic604 wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 7:48 am They said "layered sounds", not chains. Parallel, not serial. I'm pretty sure you can't do that in Cubase or Pro Tools.
I guess the advantage - for me - is that whereas automation is static and intentional, modulation can be dynamic and unpredictable, i.e. can react to what's happening elsewhere and/or can be totally random e.g. as an LFO that's decoupled from transport and beat grid or just straight random. In my projects a lot of stuff is modulated randomly and deterministically, i.e. there's no 2 plays that sound the same: note velocity, note probability, synthesis parameters, effects blend, etc.machinesworking wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:43 amI mean I get the immediacy of it all but even the modulation system of Bitwig was never completely mind blowing to me, we've had automation shapes in plenty of DAWs in the past, with various actions you can perform on that shape etc.
Don't get me wrong, I miss Kore to this day, and Bitwigs automation system is brilliant, I'm just always surprised when people act like it's not possible.
In that sense, it's literally NOT possible in many DAWs, indeed.
Obviously if someone doesn't find that appealing or better yet thinks it would be a problem for their music, then they will not appreciate Bitwig's modulation system - which is totally fine, of course.

And? I know this and we're not discussing Reason here.BriocheBaps wrote: Fri Dec 31, 2021 10:53 amReason's Combinator can literally layer as many synths, samples etc. as you want and make them a coherent playable single instrument.
