Edit: nvm.. the straight download from the website is the full version instead of the ' light'

Ok.. thoughts.. I am glad I tried this... it is not for me. Not even an option to rescale the interface (AU on Mac). Some controls allow mouse-wheel control but then, others don't even-though it would make perfect sense to. Like the filter cutoff frequency.. :?:

Pass.. hard pass. Back to lovely Shaperbox.
Entitled much...! These things are bound to take time to align, also plug in alliance.... I'm sure it'll all be native access before too long.

It's hardly a problem to install.
Entitled? What a weird and dismissive way to phrase someones grievances

To my surprise it sound good for my ears. Though I don't like the GUI that much, but sound is quite good.

the funny thing is maybe they just didn't have anywhere to go. Trash 2 is what a decade old, and still perhaps the most complex distortion plugin ever made. It's not like it went off the market, it was still appearing in bundles and sold a year ago or so, people were just buying it less and less to the point iZotope wasn't promoting it at all. So what do you do if you are izotope? Doesn't make sense to release the same thing again, when it seems to have already run its course financially. Make a more complex distortion plugin, probably not possible. Looks like they tried to reboot it by at least making something different and simplifying the whole thing a lot to appeal to a new crowd.

I get why people are complaining, but if I want to use Trash 2, I'll just use Trash 2. No reason it will stop working for at least another 5 years or so.

That was just in reference to your complaint about the installation process, which isn't that difficult really.

Your grievance on the sizing is valid. I don't normally have much issue with sizing, the improvements to the GUI supercede this as an issue to me.

It has been on very good deals, I'm sure the user base makes it worth updating, even just to give it a bit more surety in life span.

Btw I think it's gui makes it more complicated than it needs to be. I would say ohmicide is more complicated, but generally much simpler to use.

It find it can work really great on some things, and at other times not work for me at all. Definitely a great distortion tool to have available though.

Unable to login to iZotope website or via product portal.

There's something wonky going on. I did manage to change my password a few times and login but now it's saying ''It looks like you don’t own any products yet.''.

Yes, it was fine for me 2 days ago but I can't log in now either. Given all the wild price fluctuations it looka likw they're having a bit of an IT meltdown.

I managed to register the upgrade serial to my account. Then I went back to the product portal since I couldn't make any more progress there, with my new, new, new password and got it installed. Put it on iLok via License Manager.

Heads up for anyone running macOS 11 (Big Sur) or earlier - Trash does not work (no GUI) on Macs earlier than OS 12. All other iZotope plugins work with OS 11 - actually every plugin I've ever tried - so this surprised me. Lesson learned to always read the system requirements!

Same :x Though somehow Trash Lite works on Catalina.

Purchased and tested.
Comparing to many of the best iZotope products (I have almost all of them), the new Trash is a disappointment.
The sound palette isn’t nearly what the Trash 2 with expansions can offer.
The UI is unelegant, unprofessional looking.

Post

Honest question: what do we know about new Trash to suggest it's more than a reskinned, trimmed feature set of Trash 2 with auto gain function? Like does it sound different?
