was break the ice of the nearest river during winter and toss all the newborns in,
those that survived it, were made official members of the tribe.

The rest of the time, they spent killing other Indians mostly, as that was their thing.
Are you being serious?

(Maybe I missed a practical joke somewhere).

I dunno, my buddy doesn't smoke but his wife is a super consumer pothead who
can't really shut up for more than a couple minutes. Anyway, she burns weed
like it's going out of style, it's a lot of work for him to keep up with, since its
his job to get it for her (apparently)...

What the indian thing? Nope that's the truth, they were all about war. It was straight up man to man stuff tho. The warrior way, that kind of thing. When they would come
upon another tribe, they would kill them and take their stuff...

Much like the rest of my ancestors who were viking and spanish conquistadors.

*So yeah, not all native Americans were friendly...

Mmm. I feel that it was much like every other human beings of these times.

But globally your depiction of native Americans remind me that history is written by winners...

Anything that could justify genocide.

(I am not saying that you are justifying it, I am just saying that it is very convenient for the winners to describe the losing party as savages).

It's not like it was unfair, the other tribes had every means of combating them.
They just liked to fight and were very good at it, they didn't kill the women and children, whom they would adopt when possible. They killed other tribes, since
that was who was around at the time, believe me, they killed tons of Caucasians
as well, when they came around. Infact they even held out against signing a peace
treaty with the US until the 1970s I believe, when there were less than 3000 of
them remaining.

No different than any other area really. Europe for example has been fighting and squabbling for centuries. Why would the indigenous people of America be any different? Apparently, when the colonists arrived the tribes didn't see them as anything 'special' initially, just another competing tribe.

Just finished listening to this series on the wars for the plains coincidentally (episodes 446-456);

https://open.spotify.com/show/7Cvsbcjhtur7nplC148TWy

Very good and nuanced on the actions of both sides.

If it isn't in Wikipedia, it doesn't exist.
There's no wiki for KVR.

Naw he's fine, the weed thing is better than working one of her garden parties,
she is a master gardener and he has to work at her parties. She also makes lists
of stuff for him to accomplish everyday. *No lists for herself mind you.
Anyway, that's debi for you. She's ok, just never let her talk to the cops if
you get pulled over...

I see.

Anyway, that's a good opportunity for me to mention "wind river", one of my favourite movie.
It is happening in modern time within an Indian reserve.
Story is from the guy who did the stories of sicario, hell or high water, mayor of Kingstown, ...

Highly advised if you didn't saw it.
