I think as a plain old straight-up pop geezer he's on top of his game (or was a couple years back anyway) but the swing stuff i saw and heard was f**king shite!!

He doesn't have 1% of whatever it was the original crooners had. The audience for this crap probably never heard the originals so they don't know any better.

As a guitarist who has played in big bands for years I would like to say that his Swing when you're winning record is incredible. And the best side of it is that that very record brought classics to a lot of people who have never ever heard the originals, and who are not going to rush out to buy them either.
