Don't get excited - I deleted the old AU's - restarted my Mac - ensured no PA plugins showed in Logic - Closed Logic - installed the "New" versions - all still running Intel builds!

Post

yup - I installed everything listed as M1 native and nothing is. Both AU and VST3 are still x64.

PA is really pathetic

wait for the big fancy mail-out

Did you restart Mac OS? Some installers like the Goodhertz beta don’t set the flag that allows Mac OS to recognize newly installed AUs in the same session. So logic / auvalidation can’t scan them unless you restart Mac OS

you could try running

Code: Select all

sudo killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar
after restarting instead

I checked them with ArchiChect - no AS support on AU or VST3

Post

On the other hand, the only Softube plugin I have (free Saturation Knob) is in fact native in AU & VST3.

Post

I just installed Console 1, Abbey Road Brilliance Pack, American Class A, British Class A, Dirty Tape and Tape Echoes and they're all apple silicon native :tu:

Post

According to Softube on their zendesk it is full compatibility. A yay is called for.

I got the same the first time (and rebooted after installing) - still Intel.
I ran the installer again, and I got the native versions properly (confirmed).

The native versions are performing great in Logic... (as are my Softube plugins too.)

Feels like Christmas, especially as Logic 10.7.3 dropped yesterday which also increases native performance for me significantly.

Huh - I re-downloaded and installed a second time and also got native version this time.

Unfortunately, DS and UA stuff is not native yet.

for those looking for Apple Silicon Native PA builds, you'll need to download the PA-Installation Manager and install it again before trying to install the native plugins.

But, I found three plugins that hasn't been updated:
- Bettermaker EQ232D
- Lindell PEX-500
- DS Audio Thorn (that you can get directly from the developper)

Post

Well at least Knifonium is useable - CPU load is pretty reasonable. It was unusable in Rosetta.

Post

Lindell, Neold and ADPTR also don't seem to be native, so there are still some updates to come..
