I just got hold of Julien Aslak Aho, author of Crazy 3 OSC and he says no problem with sharing;

Hey Guys
Just being remixing some of my really old projects and I have found out I used then some vst comp named buzzroom AnaComp beta071.
So I was like OK, no problem, gonna find it somewhere but no luck at all and I searched all possible sources on net, I even got to webarchive of x-buzz.com which was their official web page, but that link that is there for version 0.8 beta does not work.
Does anyone of you have a link of that needed .dll to share, please?

It must be dope.
I didn't even know it existed before today. Good luck with your search though.
Perhaps you can use a replacement for this 19 year old beta plugin and still make it sound like a massive hit.

Actually I am remixing some of my mega-old projects with some going down to year 2001 (!!!), so yea - why not?
And sure I can replace it with any other compressor, but that is not the point: I am trying to recreate the original exactly as it was including all its mistakes in mix and stuff, for my own personal let's say "old mixing habits research" reasons, haha.
Still hoping someone can dig this beauty up for me/us tho (fingers crossed)!

Hi mztk, how yer goin' on ?
Anacomp sounds so, I dunno... ownable and everyday, you would think we all had it in our collection but no, I had no idea it even existed. So not a memory thing, just his previous post being the only result from Bing. !
This morning I remembered there was a link to geocities which somehow lead to this link;
http://web.archive.org/web/200406172154 ... x-buz.com/
notice the mention of Electronik Attack SynthFreeware 2003
http://web.archive.org/web/200406180944 ... om/BuzComp
http://web.archive.org/web/200408040511 ... aComp.html
No links though. And remember they were probably made for XP/2000
At the bottom of some pages are these notes;
for SSE supported CPU.
non SSE (for old Athlon/Duron).
These plugins are compiled with MSVS.net 2003 professional.
For using these plugins, you need runtime(msvcr70.dll or later)
in \WINNT\system32 (or \WINDOWS\system32
Somewhere in all this I saw mention of a user with the same username I know from elsewhere. I'll see if it's him and if he might have it.

BTW does anyone remember that Steinberg Vocoder VST plugin from long time ago, like prior 2010?
It would be great if someone could find it somewhere too, as I just remixing another very old project having that thing in, buh!
There used to be link to it in one Steinberg Cubase forum post, but it is empty. Here: https://forums.steinberg.net/t/is-stein ... ble/133665

so would that have been in buzz machines massive pack (about 30mb) or buzz machines stealth pack (smaller)?
there's other stuff, several folders and i don't know if all are buzz. can i interest you in a buzzcomp something? not the same anacomp.
both of those packs require installing and i'm not keen right this minute.. but will probably anyway now.
@bob bobwood, funny how the internet's quite a small place sometimes

yeh i found it, 'vocoder.exe', and you install it and it unpacks, to 'vocoder.exe', which can then install, and creates a folder called 'system', with a dll and other stuff in it. but it doesn't appear in the VST folder, and i think it's for Wavelab, which is mentioned. i'd stay away from it. can't uninstall, i just deleted the files. use a different vocoder? or can't you load your projects?qraqatit wrote: Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:46 am BTW does anyone remember that Steinberg Vocoder VST plugin from long time ago, like prior 2010?

Alas, the buzz machines were a bunch of instruments and effects that you could load into Buzz Generator Adapter in FL Studio as a native FL Studio plugin format though originally for Jeskola Buzz tracker.
Here's a picture or a link to a picture, or both:

'unsupported' doesn't mean it's been freed though, does it? you'd still have to authorise all of those?
question: was there ever a free version of Cubase/Cubasis that was not tied to some piece of hardware and authorisation?
restricted either in only being MIDI, or VST, something like that?
