This must be a beta thing as it's not in 5.5.4 that I can see. (windows)

Thanks guys ... now for something weird ... I run RC on two machines ... a laptop and a desktop. I installed version 5.5.4 on my laptop yesterday ... no "adaptive" harmony tab ... hence my post. Just installed version 5.5.4 on my desktop ... the "adaptive" tab is present. I guess I should check build dates, or something.

Ok, so, Atilla fixed the issue with 5.5.4 were the Windows version didn't have the updates. So, if you have the bad version of 5.5.4, you have to get the new version. You won't be able to get the new version if you have the bad version, though. In other words, if you click on check for updates, it will say you are up to date, even though you are not.

If you have a beta version, you are in luck and you can also check for the production version from the beta version. Just re download the installer from the beta version (not the beta version!!).

If you don't have the beta version, then you will have to email Atilla for the correct copy/link.

Yes, probably, because I still don't know how it could happen!
I checked the "June 8" installer, the "June 4" installer and the "May 31" installer, they all had this button!

BTW I did not fully like how it worked so I improved adaptive harmonization to use more sensible rules and now it uses separate rules for harmonic and melodic minor. In addition if the melody is too dense (i.e. uses too may notes in a division) it will find simpler chords by eliminating less important notes. I have the bad habit to upload updates to the current version, but these improvements will officially be in the next version...

Holy smokes that adaptive harmony. Any melody i throw at it sounds musical.

RapidComposer v5.9b1 is available!

This is actually a v6 beta version that you can use with your existing v5 settings. Please report any issues (thank you!). I'll be following this topic more frequently.

Improvements:

• SFZ instruments supported. You can find many great quality SFZ instruments on the net.
• Soundfonts/SFZ page fully reworked
• Click-and-hold on the timeline scrolls (horizontal movement) and zooms (vertical movement) the composition. This is standard in some DAWs.
• Timeline selection editing improved, better indication of the selection during and after editing the range
• Receive MIDI Machine Control: RapidComposer can be controlled from external MIDI devices/DAWs
• Setting the SMPTE timecode frame rate when sending MIDI Machine Control
• Progress indicator during loading compositions and SFZ files
• Master and soundfont gain is in dB
• Minor UI cosmetic changes

RapidComposer v5.9b2 is available!

Note editing completely reworked to be more standard and user friendly. The default tool is the pencil and the note can be transposed during creation. Use Ctrl-click for rubber-box selection. The old behaviour can be restored in the Settings.

Improvements:

• Note editing was completely reworked
• New setting: 'Note editing with mouse' (the default tool is the pencil, so you can create notes immediately without pressing Ctrl)
• New setting: 'Note creation' (dragging during note creation can transpose the note)

Hi Attila. The note editing is great, but maybe it would be better to do it like this.. One click to create a note, double click to delete a note. Thanks.

Good idea, lulukom! I'll add this in the next beta.

Currently, a left double-click will split a note. This is useful.
Perhaps it should be a right double-click to delete the note.

Thanks for the upgrades here. The notion that one hand on the mouse can get the most common/useful things done directly with a minimum of further needed navigation etc. is a good one!

For splitting/gluing things (notes, phrases, chords), you always Alt-click.
So the current double-click behaviour is removed.
In fact the new update that I'll upload soon displays 'scissors' mouse cursor when you press Alt over a note/phrase/chord.
