32... it's a 32 bit mask, and we have to extend it to 64 bit.

Yeah I agree. But I think they know it. Hopefully maybe the final ZebraHZ update will address this before Zebra3 comes out in 2019-2020.
Well it's historically what Hans wanted.

We'll eventually move the filters up into the module rack though, but we need to refactor (=change some fundamental architecture) some of our codebase to do that.
F Hans! WHAT ABOUT ME!?

It's really fine as is. RePro is shaping up to be another killer synth. I just like to complain.

Right, thanks for the correction. The world is largely 64-bit now, anyways! :)

That's Zerocrossing. He is buying and selling synths instead of learning them and writing music. :hyper:

Except him we're all dying to see more Repro synths.

I also am dying to see Zebra 3. And maybe a couple more DIVA modules :help:

I'm looking forward to Z3 too, but RePro-1 is something that Zebra isn't. It just effortlessly makes great sounds and so easy to use.

Hi all, I'm bouncing in here extremely late it seems, but I've just been made aware of Repro-1 and started playing around with it a little.
Right off the bet I noticed a weird thing after saving a second preset and bouncing back to the first the VCA Envelope|Gate switch seems to get ignored and will always be on Envelope, even if the GUI still works fine.

First impression on filters:

It's tough, because by my taste the most unique sound comes from 4 in my opinion and has some more complex and unique character than the rest. All of them have the usual and unfortunate authenticity of the resonance, for which the cutoff can't be tuned across more than about 1 octave, when tracking with the keys (carefully tweaking the dials). I remember in the old days for this to be tricky, too, on a number of synths. I understand the authenticity to be a proper reason, but find i sad, too, since it expands the design possibilities.
The other filter types seem more costly than it's worth except 1, of course.
Filter 2 is just kind of dirty with a tendency to saturate more than the others, I guess.

Anyway, needs a lot more calm and careful listening and checking, but those are my first impressions, for what it's worth?!

Other than that: FUN SYNTH!
The minimalism is challenging but also helps to focus and to know what this little smooth beasty can be used for. The sound is extremely smooth and no automation currently corrupts the neat behavior of it as far as I can tell. It's all so incredibly round and full in its sound, it's fascinating.

Once this gem is fully optimized and decently fast, I can't wait to try a OSC style track with it! :hyper:

As soon as I have time to check it more carefully, I'll happily report back with more impressions on the filters and then I will vote, if it's still desired?!

For now: Thanks for sharing the progress, Urs, and I hope I'll be able to be of some service to you! :tu:

Ah, danged...sorry about that! It's a wee bit more common, I suppose, and I'm happily distracted! :dog:
Thanks for the nudge! ;)

Taron,
I have a feeling that the version that the beta testers are using (and I'm not one of them) has moved on quite a bit from the alpha version that was available for download.
Also - all the decisions about which version of filter to use - have been made ;-)

Ah, not only am I late in the game, I've missed the whole train, haha! :o :ud:
I'm tempted to ask questions, but I dislike being the lazy guy, who doesn't go look...so...now I know at least what I should be looking for. Thanks! :tu:
I guess, the Beta is a closed group, because I couldn't find anything about it after a quick google. Just funny that the Alpha is still out there.

Anyway, good stuff! Looking forward to the results then. :)

AH, found the thread:

Nice! Probably gonna be another U-He classic!

Yeah, the current version that Beta testers have is long past that free public Alpha. It uses far less CPU, sounds better, and all the planned features are now implemented (besides a few small things). It has a lovely compliment of FX that are very well suited to this synth.

The general u-he approach is to give the beta team a chance to find any egregious bugs etc, before a public beta goes out. So I guess it will be that way this time too, and if so, it is likely that the public beta will be soon considering the state of the current build (solid and close to ready).

This synth is fun to use and sounds lively and full of juice!

Very cool! The latest screenshots do look quite exciting. Normally I don't mess around much with monophonic synths these days, but this one looks (and sounds) like a fun exploration!
Thanks for the info! ;)

I was under the impression there is never going to be a final release of Re pro as it's a testing ground for U-he and not an actual product
