When I get my new Apple Studio machine, I'm not going to migrate anything to it over from old machines.
It will be a fresh, clean install from scratch and at this point, I am comfortable with not installing anything that isn't Silicon native yet. There is no one plugin or company on this planet that is essential to what I do.
When I install all of my many hundreds of plugins again, some plugins might meet a swift death and they will be banished and excommunicated and they will end up on a old spinning drive because they don't deserve any better.

Just keep in mind that you will still need Rosetta. Many installers still require it, even if it is installing a native version of something.Synth Master Jedi wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:03 pm When I install all of my many hundreds of plugins again, some plugins might meet a swift death and they will be banished and excommunicated and they will end up on a old spinning drive because they don't deserve any better.

I see. I didn't know that some installers might still need it, but that's good to know, thanks!teilo wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 8:17 pm

i was gonna do the same thing, but really it's just a pain in the ass in the end.
Pretty much all my plugins from Mojave now work in Monterey, so opening older projects in Rosetta isn't such a headache. Rosetta isn't really that much of an issue when you have a machine that absolutely churns. Your mileage may vary, but there quite a few goto plugins for me that are still not native, so there's not a lot that can be done. Cytomic plugins for example, the Drop is EVERYWHERE in my projects, i can't replace it.
Put it this way, I have an M1 mbp, you'll have twice the power. I am running the biggest projects i've ever worked on, and i haven't even heard the fans come on. I've never hit the roof. And you'll have twice that CPU power. Rosetta is a non issue really.

Has anyone been able to use the latest Soundtoys native betas in Cubase 12?
Here they open in native Live 11, but not Cubase 12.
Also they don't have icons, they all appear as folders.
They work in Rosetta mode though.

Would it be possible to add a filter for AU and VST3 Apple Silicon support? I am not sure, but I’m guessing that many of these plugins are AS-native for AU only.teilo wrote: Mon Nov 30, 2020 4:42 pm The new home for the Apple Silicon audio software list is here: https://asaudio.tech.

No, that's not practical, as it would require researching and tagging 1300+ plugins. Developer websites are a click away.lightsfadelow wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:52 pm Would it be possible to add a filter for AU and VST3 Apple Silicon support? And further, it's not necessary. There is only one plugin I know of that is not native in both AU and VST2/3, and that is Tone2 Warlock. And in that case, there is no AU, and this fact is noted in its listing.

Soundtoys has not released VST3s. Cubase 12 does not support native VST2s. This is in the release notes, as well as in my Cubase listing on the site: https://asaudio.tech/developer/28sqigls wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:47 pm Has anyone been able to use the latest Soundtoys native betas in Cubase 12?

That's essentially what I did - I haven't built a clean fresh Mac since 2006 and I didn't want 15+ years of crud on this one, so I started from scratch. I also used it as an excuse to thin down my plugins rather than install everything, which also helps with sorting out compatibility issues etc. No regrets!Synth Master Jedi wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:03 pm When I get my new Apple Studio machine, I'm not going to migrate anything to it over from old machines.

We turned in Apple Silicon patches starting in early 2021. We're in contact trying to figure out what went wrong.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 7:15 pmI recall the January version of that page having a short list of plugins that weren't going to be ready for day 1. I don't recall Lindell or UA previously being mentioned as not being available. Now they are (by their omission).beely wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 6:30 pmThey put up that page in January to inform people the M1 update is coming, and it doesn't look like it's changed significantly since then, so I'm not sure what they updated yesterday. It still starts with "The upcoming M1 update...".Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 4:22 pmThey updated this page yesterday and it leaves out Unfiltered Audio, Lindell and others...so it looks like if you want "official" builds of those, like me, you're going to be left waiting.
AND considering the information on that page matches up with today's release, I think we can assume it's accurate and the update they made yesterday was to get the most recent info out that corresponded to today's release. There's still no Unfiltered Audio or Lindell as indicated on that page and they're still not released. I doubt they're coming out tomorrow.

Roland Cloud are native only as AU. The VST3s are Intel. It's a total facepalm.teilo wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:57 pmThere is only one plugin I know of that is not native in both AU and VST2/3

Yeah, I forgot about that one. I did have that in their dev notes.
But, IMO, Roland Cloud has always been a total facepalm.

I’m really sorry you couldnt develop a model outside PA ecosystem, great plugs, but PA is just not a good vendor
