Yeah, I had heard the difference as well and was coming here to post, but BManic had already got the ball rolling. I'm going to stay on 1.0 for now.

Except that it won't let me install over a "newer" version. I've manually uninstalled the AU component, but what else needs to be nuked before it will let me reinstall 1.0? I can't seem to find any of the usual suspects: prefs, application support stuff... On Mac OS and only ever installed the AU version. Anybody?

this sorta cracks me up. the differences are SO minute, and...i doubt anyone listening to your music is gonna call you on it
("hey, i was listening to that song on my iphone, and realized the lead synth was lacking slightly in high end edge")

Well I for one create most of my music for myself.. so if something irritates me, it irritates me (it's not lacking high-end "edge" btw, it has too much of it, compared to the earlier versions!

I don't care what others could or could not hear.

Hence the post of concern in the first place.

Hmm. Thanks, but easyfind isn't finding anything like that, and revealing hidden files via the terminal isn't finding anything in receipts either.

Run this command in Terminal to find the files:

sudo find / -iname "com.revealsound.*"

I feel that AM and FM benefits from the new sound, but in other areas it lost a little bit of its life.

So a quality selector would maybe be a good ideas as some people suggested before ^^

This only works for the Mac link. PC links don't have a version number in the URL.

I have the PC x64 v1.0 demo installer if needed... only a demo version so I see no harm in sending it (unless dev responds not to, which I will respect).

I compared versions 0.9.1.7, 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 mixing them in antiphase: preset ARP Sonic Swing V with disabled Delay.
Result is zero!
It shows that the sound of these versions is identical.
Pleased optimization version 1.0.2, PD Jupiter is faster by 25-30%

all i know is...i can now use more than 1 or 2 instances of spire in logic X; am really getting into this synth! so...where are the third-party soundsets? bring it on......

I'm working on a Spire soundset. I have around 80 patches so far but they still need tweaking and I would like to fill the bank too.

Only 3 presets, drums are from FL Studio, no fx on synths only a little SoundGoodizer (10%) on the master to glue everything a little bit.

Sadly I will travel soon and it may not be ready before November (but I will try to continue while traveling).

Great stuff, thanks so much! Out of interest, does this change the aspects of the sound that various people were talking about earlier?

Edit: Presets like FX Minor Hit V are examples of why this synth is my favourite these days. Especially if you set oscillator 2 to not play the 3rd above (i.e. set Note to 0) ... WOW!

Thanks for the updates... Spire get a lot usage in my tracks it's a good feeling to support the right devs.
In my last track I used it for 2 important sounds like the main pluck and the main Arp line with a small Phaser effect (it's Spires own Phaser FX). It fits so nice in the mix without fighting against other sounds. Great synth.
