There's the My KVR feature on this site which informs you about new versions of exactly those plugins you own. While it's not always super fast, it's worth a look for sure.

it WOULD be great if ALL developers sent email notices to plugin owners....
Hm, I try to regularly check updates for all the VST/VSTis I bought...
But the pace is fast, when I asked my question on this forum, a v1.03 had just appeared (I bought spire yesterday, and it was v1.02), and now we already have v104 :)

But it would be way easier if there was an email, or if the software would connect itself to check for updates (don't know if a VST can connect to the internet, though?).

Back on topic: where does the 1.04 update sit on the sonic quality meter?

Post

Difference does not strike me with 1.04.
And Cpu usage is not less. Playing the same rich sustained chords, peaking at 14.5% CPU, was 14.4 with 1.02.

Awesome! Thanks!

I don't think 1.04 from 1.02 was suppose to bring less cpu usage.
I am hoping that one of the 1.03 fixes is what caused some ppl to have different sound in some patches and the 1.04 well as it says.

thanks for the updates again!
Feature Request
as i was programming along i missed a noise waveform in the LFOs - i totally need one, because the SH and SG waveforms i have there arent enough random for me.

thats for the moment, still working hard to make presets and i dont still love spire - good job on it.
now upgrading from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 :)

Hi,

Updated to version 1.04 all went smooth & it sounds great !

Thanks for the speedy updates.

(FR) : I would like to see an improved browser in a future update. i.e. be able to have multiple banks loaded, instead of having to load one bank at a time, also some category, filtering, favorites, criteria, ...etc. browsing features would be very cool.

SPIRE Rocks !

#preset browser

I personally ended with saving all bank presets as individual plugin settings in Logic...
Logic's browser is far more comfortable for now, because it has

1. midi button can be mapped for next/previous plugin setting
2. all presets can be organised by category (sq/arp/pd/pl .. etc)
3. I found few repeating presets across the banks :)

ohh please no auto updates. i hate that - i prefer to keep a setup as backup on my backup HDD and also to manually update.

Post

an option to or not to auto update would fix that no?

They should setup a mailing-list for their customers to inform about updates and stuff. It's not expensive and there are some well known providers like Mailchimp which are used by a lot companies.

yes thats right and also a developer forum here at kvraudio.com(would make things easier, because its hard to find that topic here and its also not to great for overview, no topic for example about feature requests or something.)
yes turn on/off auto update is a good idea.

So do I!! I will never ever activate any kind of autoupdate!
I wrote "check for updates" :) Not install them automatically. The way Reaper does, for instance.

As for the mailing list, it is simply strange... to download most of the demos/trial/free stuff, you need to enter an email address, or to register somewhere...

Ok I guess I'll simply like their FB page, it seems they update it for each release, which is nice.
