It's just that almost all PA installers are not Silicon native and prompt you to install Rosetta. Only of the very newest plugins are the installers also silicon native.
It's a drag.

weird. in the PA installation manager when i select for M1 native.. the DS plug ins are excluded...
downloaded the individual installer from PA and installed. it is indeed ARM native. so, i guess their installation manager is just wacky. i used to do a kind of blanket reinstall every 4 months or so of all the PA stuff i own.. because there's no easy way of knowing what's been updated.. i've gone through folders and checked versions numbers (get info) etc and that's the only way I can see what i need to update.. such a pain though..
anyway, thanks for the answer about thorn.

Guys, is anyone able to use MTS-ESP with Thorn? Can't get it working in Bitwig, Fl or Reaper. PA's support so far couldn't help, they suggested that the plugin is bridged/sandboxed, but I couldn't make it get detected by MTS-ESP mini or SurgeXT even when forcing native audio mode.

Has been broken since the most recent updates. Actually got in touch with Oddsound about it, yet nothing really happened since then. Guess this is something only Dmitry himself can solve.anomandaris1 wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 7:34 am Guys, is anyone able to use MTS-ESP with Thorn? Can't get it working in Bitwig, Fl or Reaper. You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

I don't know if Dmitry's around. I found my old copy of Tantra, but can't find the serial #. Went to his website days ago and put in a Contact form to retrieve it as instructed and have yet to get a response.

Hmm... so is Dmitry Sches' Thorn truly abandonware now? Just asking..
Last time it was updated was Mar 22, 2024 (Version 1.3.3).

He is in a country that is affected by the russia-ukraine war, and truthfully I haven't communicated with him in a few months.
He was working on a new plugin for the last few years.
I am hoping he is alright.
Will email him later.

The last couple times i have emailed him regarding bugs or suggestions for Thorn he has graciously replied. I think the last time was in 2025. He is working on something new, and has been for a while.

Sadly, his software never gets regular updates.psynical wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 6:17 pm The synth is nearly 10 years old... most synths that old don't get regular updates.

Thorn is still one of my favorite sounding synths, and its a pleasure to work with as the GUI is so easy to navigate. Other than a couple little bugs, the one thing i wish you could do is have independent control over which OSC goes through the harmonic filter section. It would open up a lot of sonic capabilities. Add a little toggle right next to the vibrato / keytrack boxes, similar to how Rapid does it.
