Kells is a genius, Timbo is a genius, The Neptunes are geniuses. They can do "any" genre of music...that's what sets them apart from the rest of the pack.

Kanye is the best at what he does with those samples. I ain't got the patience to cut and time all of those samples to put in a beat. I'd rather play out the part. But there's no one better than him at it. He's raw, but I can't put him in with the top three.

The most underrated producer.....Just Blaze.
EPhraZe IzReal Music....Ig you need hot beats hit me up.

My fave producers are

Dr Dre - he changed the game
Preemo - NY Finest also changed tha game
Pete Rock - Inspirational
Timbo - cos he does it differently all the time

9th wonder - cos he comes from the pete rock school of thought & he does it all in FL Studio

At the moment, for me it's unquestionably Madlib.

Other guys I rate are Kutmasta Kurt, Premier (not sure about his recent stuff though :( ), RZA and Bigg Jus.

Jon Brion. Mainly because hes a proper producer and not a beat maker. He can go from producing Kanye west's new album to producing fiona apple and making both sound fan frickin tastic..

While i'm not a big Slum village fan, i do like some of Jay Dee's remixes of other people.

Post

madlib, jay dee, el-p, premo, pete rock, large professor, rza, BOMB SQUAD.
Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good

Can't believe I forgot Pete Rock. The guy is a hip-hop god, as far as I'm concerned.

Is anyone listening to "9th wonder & buckshot" -Chemistry?

Well, Dre has to be tops, but can't forget

+ Older DJ Hi-Tek (e.g. Reflection Eternal, Mood, Blackstar)
+ Kanye West (new album is dope!)
+ Ant (e.g. Brother Ali, Atmosphere)
+ Pete Rock (e.g. Petestrumentals)

Now that I think about it, there are quite a few good producers out there, it's the MCs who are often the weak link.

sha money xl is real good (50 cents primary producer, other than Dre). also cool and dre. and of course Premier is the end all, be all..... Alchemist is good... so is Havok (or is it Prodigy who makes the beats?)
