Kells is a genius, Timbo is a genius, The Neptunes are geniuses. They can do "any" genre of music...that's what sets them apart from the rest of the pack.Left Headphone wrote:Timba, Neptunes, Kells. These guys have changed the game as far Hip-hop and R&B. You can throw Lil Jon in there too. K West just cuts up old records and samples the hell out of them.
Kanye is the best at what he does with those samples. I ain't got the patience to cut and time all of those samples to put in a beat. I'd rather play out the part. But there's no one better than him at it. He's raw, but I can't put him in with the top three.
The most underrated producer.....Just Blaze.
EPhraZe IzReal Music....Ig you need hot beats hit me up.

At the moment, for me it's unquestionably Madlib.
Other guys I rate are Kutmasta Kurt, Premier (not sure about his recent stuff though
), RZA and Bigg Jus.

Jon Brion. Mainly because hes a proper producer and not a beat maker. He can go from producing Kanye west's new album to producing fiona apple and making both sound fan frickin tastic..

Well, Dre has to be tops, but can't forget
+ Older DJ Hi-Tek (e.g. Reflection Eternal, Mood, Blackstar)
+ Kanye West (new album is dope!)
+ Ant (e.g. Brother Ali, Atmosphere)
+ Pete Rock (e.g. Petestrumentals)
Now that I think about it, there are quite a few good producers out there, it's the MCs who are often the weak link.
