FL Studio 6 Mixer...

...that's kind of a moronic take on things...looking pro doesn't mean you're automatically sounding pro. It could look pro and work like s**t. How well does it function, that's what I would like to know. I think people forget that these days we're squeezing what used to take several square feet in a real room, into my 19" screen. That's where the attention SHOULD go: making the most of my 19 inches!...easymode wrote:...dynamic loops for the noobz

more and more plugz.
As for mixer, usually, people want a big mixer cos it looks pro (u know, like Cubase crap). They wanna have big meters cos it looks nice and pro, again... (but actually, who give a fcuk about meters, if it sounds good, its good), they want brushed metal skin etc etc

Sorry if I'm a bit behind on this one... but does FL6 have a track Freeze function... or PDC? I liked the FL demo on v5 but had CPU issues and really needed a freeze at least...

When I still had been a fl customer up until about a year ago gol kept rejecting the numerous PDC inquiries as he doesn't see the need for FL to have PDC. Maybe that has changed since, he had been rather clear about that back then though.

You're kidding! GIven the CPU of Sytrus alone, I'm amazed if nobody has asked for Freeze!Jaeson Merrill wrote:well, gol doesnt want to include it because no one asks for it.

Oh well... if version 6 does have freeze, I may well bite. If not, ... well, I can't imagine FL gaining many new customers, as you say.

********* useability enhancements: ***********
in the mixer:
next to the (mix-level knob),
there should be (2x small buttons)
so, it would take only 1x click,
to acess the fx-list.
the second button,
should be for the fx-scan,
1x click and it makes a quick-scan.
it is unpractical,
to do:
arrow->-select->- etc.
same thing - in the main window:
next to the knobs (channel panning)+(channel volume)
there should be also 2x small extra quick-buttons,
so, one can acess the fx+fx-quick-scan,
simply with only 1x mouse-click.

a resizeable mixer is better then it is now, I've hoped for that for a long time...resizing doesn't mean making it bigger...it's nice when you can size a mixer into the size of how many track you use, especially if you don't use a whole lot. The way I work with FL most flps will have (all mixer tracks, not channels) 4 drum tracks, 1 bass, 1 B4, one or two synths, maybe a couple samples which might be on the same tracks, or even on drun tracks depending on the sample. So you see when it comes to mixer tracks in FL I might use 10 tracks but usually closer to 8 tracks, but the mixer is 16 tracks.
I would rather have the the larger proportions going to the tracks I use.
I like the larger meter and the mute switches. I do not use a lot of fx in FL, but that will still take some getting use to, however the extra send feature will not be that big a deal for me, but I think it's great for others. It appears to have arming switches for recording on each track, while sticking with the disc icon (smart move). I think it might help the learning curve on recording audio, though without knowing whether auto-punch is added as well I can't say it will make audio recording better. I do think it's an improvement, I'll be interested to see what else comes with it...

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Yeah, well Gol also said that 'Loop Recording' would never happen, but FLS now has it since version 5.0, so I suspect it's on the list.headquest wrote:You're kidding! As far as freezing goes, I haven't really needed it so far, but I guess it would be nice, along with PDC.

And who needs meters? After all any clipping and crap sounding stuff is FL`s fault. Not mine!!!!
