Got the PM..

most of the stock of CD's went to TRCymru which they are using as part of a relaunch in spring as part of the art4art project.
I only have any handfull left here.. I think Glassback, vurt and rozzer have some small stock left?..

However, I'm not sure that there are many kind hearted people in KVR who haven't got the CD though...?

hey, i'm on friggen SSI with 2 kids and i'm throwing in 50 bucks i can't afford...who needs samples and such just to give? although it's a nice gesture...if everybody in the US throws in some cash it will help...a lot..i can't even believe you folks from other countries would even want to help...it's kind of humbling..i mean i'm kind of considered poor and i just gave my dog some steak trimmings, probably better than lots of folks in the world get to eat...it's depressing...if you knew the attitudes of the people i deal with, the self rightious religious crap they toss about, they ain't giving a dime, best believe...i admire y'all...no BS...

I want to emphasize that the important thing here is to give, and to give as much and as often as possible. Like the tsunami, once the crisis has passed, there will still be massive homelessness and economic displcement due to Katrina, so the need will be ongoing.

The reason I am selling samples for the cause is becasue I believe that every business should have some philanthropy built into its normal commercial life so I have some sounds that are exclusively for charity available at all times.

Sales of SynWav EVE ONE edition and DB Slickekits for WusikEngine will be donated to the Red Cross all during September, but effective yesterday.

The point is you don't need to buy any of this to help, give directly to the relief organization of your choice whether you buy anything or not. And do it now. My point is just that as I said at the time of the tsunami, if we make some effort to divert some of the money that is part of our consumer and commercial lives to needs in the community, global and local, we will be doing a good thing and giving these transactions some higher purpose than only our own desires. I encourage others who do business here to do likewise.

I've been watching the news reports on the Katrina Disaster and I'm in shock. The amount of destruction is staggering. I'll give what I can and Nevada is sending rescue teams to the Gulf Coast as we speak.

Has anyone heard from TTOZ yet? Was he still in the New Orleans area?

a couple of his friends are there tho

he mentioned some bad news from one of them.
few other members tho still not reported in,twilly is one TVD and one or two others,hopefully its just the power being down .

I just spent the better part of 4 hours loading UHAULS with everything from servers, laptops, desktops and network equipment to generators, food water and other necessities. There are alot of people homeless now and things arent going to improve anytime soon. I am working with local relief orgs to help out, even if you cant donate money, try to donate time or food or anything it will be much appreciated.

please know this just meant that i don't want anything for throwing a few bucks in, i admire what you are doing...

does anyone know the best place to give money? i'm assuming red cross, is this correct? if i didn't have to watch my kids i'd go do something time-wise...

The American Red Cross is the best place to donate if you want your money to go directly to relief efforts. Also due to the high number of scam donation sites online now this is the safest place to donate on the Internet:

This is just a sad, sad situation. I'm very fond of New Orleans. It's one of the United States' oldest cities and definitely the one with the most unique culture (I love the music and food). Unfortunately, NOLA as we know it has been wiped off the map. It's going to be a while before all of the water is completely gone and only then will they be able to find the bodies of the thousands that are missing right now. Anarchy has pretty much broken out in the city with armed gangs of looters going around, shooting at the police. They are also firing at relief helicopters.

I have a friend who had to stay behind in the French Quarter. I haven't heard from him yet but NOLA is just a communications black hole right now. Fortunately, the French Quarter is one of the only parts of NOLA actually above sea level so it was spared the worst of the flooding.

I'm driving to Houston this weekend to see if there's anything to do. Thousands of the refugees are being bused in to live at the Astrodome.

They've stopped the bus transports as apparently someone started shooting at the Superdome..There's like 60,000 people there and they look like they're close to rioting..
