Are MODS just skins or do they sound different/do different things too?

they come with their own (built in) sample sets.

Ohhh and an upgrade from Rebirth to Reason 3.0. That's new too ?

I think I may have to give that a twirl... :)

More stuff to learn tho :?

Now, this is a REALLY nice gesture! Hats off to the Propellerheads!
Of course, these days ReBirth might indeed be outdated, but perhaps it's still nice on a laptop without any MIDI and specialized audio card present.
Some companies should take this as an example (actually, FXpansion allready did by releasing their DR-005 for free when DR-008 came out).

the samples are only for the drum part.
but you can have mods that have samples that are not only drums, but you have to trigger them from the drummachines.

the synth is not sample based.

Yeah I know. I just think it's kindof funny recalling all those interminably boring "my 303 emu is better than yours" debates to recall the ReBIrth was always held up as the one to aim for - I never knew it was really just a sampleset with a sequencer front end.

so my question again:

does any1 know a freeware virtual CD drive,
that works good on WinXP?

or another way to mount the CD (or iso image), without having it physically to put in the CD drive?

I always thought the 303's were an emulation and the samples from the drums..

I think Daemon tools should do the job.
Don't you have a CD drive in your machine?

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Hi Sascha,

I have two CD drives,

but I´m a lazy bone,
I have ReBirth for years, but putting the CD in and out kept me from using it.
I´d like to have it more comfortable.

do you have a link for the Daemon tools?
