Umm.. they sure are impressive sounding but NOT in a mixing situation where one might want a wideband non-linearphase character eq. The red and orange eq's from algorithmix are rather clinical sounding, that is, they add nothing to the source material, they simply boost or cut the frequencies selected in a very transparent manner (although IMHO not as well as the Weiss EQ mk2).

In short, your 'outburst' here is quite irrelevant. :)

What... this?

that one comes with the following:

BT Analog Chorus CH-2S
BT Analog Phaser PH-2S
BT Analog Compressor CP-2S
BT Analog Limiter LM-2S
BT Tube Driver DR-2S
BT Noise Gate Limiter GL-201
BT Vintage Compressor FA770
BT Analog Equalizer PEQ-2A
BT Vintage Equalizer PEQ-2B
BT Mid-Range Equalizer PEQ-2C
BT Vintage Oilcan Echo/Delay TLE-2S
BT Tempo Delay 3D DL-3D
BT Long Delay LE
BT Brick Wall Limiter BW-2S
BT Deesser DS-2S
BT Stereo Imager SI-2S

Which of the above sounds like an LA2A? I see a few posibilities, but I was just curious which one you were refering to.[/url]

Comparing the new Algorithmix eQ's to the URS is like comparing apples and oranges. They are both HQ eQ's, but the URS's are full of color and resonance, where as the Algo's are for transparency - specifically phase accuracy. I agree with you, PSP "MasterComp" is too die for. But I disagree with PSP when they say it is extremely transparent primarily. It is full of subtle character. MasterComp is the single most amazing plug I have ever heard (including *almost* all the TDM's). How did PSP do this - boggles me. The attention to detail is just crazy. Hats off to PSP.

Sorry, it'sa longstanding joke around here. Blue Tubes gets a lot of abuse in general.

I haven't heard of a specific LA/2A vst other than UAD's.

Blue Tubes really doesn't do anything for me what so ever.

I just tried these and don't hear anything special at all. The convolution settings have very subtle differences in fact. Not only that but they introduce a significant delay wich results in pahsing if you mix it with a dry signal.

And what do you all think about the PSP MixCompressor (not the new released MasterComp)? I found this always very vintage like. How compares this one to the LA/2A?
Who is general failure? And what is he doing on my harddisc?

But what a plate! :o
I open it up at the beginning of every mix session cause I know I will use it. It's that great!

Umm, that significant delay is 13 samples and hosts usually have delay compensation (even if they don't that shouldn't be a problem). As for subtle, well I don't agree there.. the differences in the EQ's are huge. They all sound very much different but if you mean the 'output' part of the eq then yeah, that is a bit more subtle.

Cheers!
