pretty much all of metal box/second edition- PiL (wobble RULES)
down by the river - neil young
black dog- zepplin (jpj is the most underrated imo)
the good thing -talking heads (during the cool bu vox she plays one note...that's arty! then it cooks in that chick bass player way)
isolation - joy division (everyone said "she's lost control")
sunshine of your love - cream (launched a thousand bass players)

most of the funk listed, too much beatles, it's on the other thread...i'm leaving out synth for a "best synth bass lines" thread...

(3) Mick is not underrated - he's a well recognised freakin' genius
