Nah no fight mate - womoma is very welcome to have his opinion. I just hope its from experience of the place and not from crap that he heard/read

I mean theres junkies mugging and stabbing tourists on the streets of Dublin / journos being shot / gang members being shot in the face - just like there is drug families shooting each other in Limerick...

I guess my point is that its EVERYWHERE - theres like 2 million people living in Dublin - 2 hunderd thousand ish in Limerick

Besides - I LIKE Dublin... great gigs... great music shops... sexy women... and some murders and a drug problem... just like everywhere else

I love my home - Ive been to London, Paris, New York - 15 different states in America - all over the UK and 1/2 of France but my home is my home and its not a fuckin horrible place. There are fuckin horrible PARTS but there is everywhere...

heheh. sorry dave man. I know there are plenty of nice parts of limerick.
What I said about it being a horrible place I take back, there are obviously plenty of parts of Dublin which are horrible and dangerous too.
But i still think a musician coming from a big city in USA, for example, would most likely appreciate dublin more as far as things like gigs and amenities go.

certainly wont catch me over there in winter now

hehe but it is a lovely country on the whole,limerick and dublin are both cities with equal pros and cons id say
and that an outsiders ppoint of view.theyre the same as everywhere these days tho i spose

just enjoy ireland for what it is

Hey ya womoma!!!

I couldnt agree more - Limerick is a VERY DIFFICULT place to be into Electro music... I had to go to Dublin to buy an Ebow FFS

I asked our local music store for a Midi lead and I think the guy is still looking at me!!!

Totaly agree - coming from the USA to Limerick is a BIG jump... especially when you keep bumping into your ex-GF's everywhere you go

Im gonna have to come to Dublin soon to play an electro gig - I'll need help then - can I hit you up please?!?!?

school rocks!!!
well kind of,some bits dont rock as much as others but the studio side is a blast so far

we got an acoustic gig comin up soon where we engineer for some of the prformance students,then next summer we have an open air electric gig(ill let you know more about that as it gets closer)
but so far yeah havin a blast.

mines all music tho we have no hookey field

plus im not sure about over there but do people just all stand outside and smoke anyway?leaving huge piles of fag ends in the doorway,very attractive...

i know where your coming from dont get me wrong,just the culture of pubs specially irish pubs is some old bloke fag angin out of his mouth playin a fiddle and a load of others too with various skills and integrity joining in when stoked enough

pubs kinda lose their atmosphere,without that ovr here theyll just be kids in rockport drinkin stella

Hey womoma!!!

Nothing organized yet - getting some tunes together and a mate (living in Dublin) is ALWAYS pushing for us to do a laptop/electribe gig together... so its gonna happen but its a couple of months away yet

I'll tell him when Im ready and let him do all the legwork!!!

It would be more advice I'd be looking for when were up and running - where to hit etc... Might try a student union gig down here first to see the reaction!!!

Here in Norway we've had a fascist smoke ban for years, and last was a total ban in any plaec that might be seen as someone's workplace.

A salesman I talked to said he had a bunch of Japanese over, and they said they liked Oslo but were surprised at all the prostitution. My friend was a bit confused and asked what he meant, and he answered that outside almost every building he would see scantily clad women smoking...

But yes, we hang out outside the pub smoking. Of course, we can't bring our beers outside, so the fascism continues ad nauseam. Most pubs that can have propane heaters and tables and blankets to try to make it less nasty.

It's come to the point where smokers have the most will power of all. The stuff one goes through to have a simple fag...

I'm now in Ireland.....
