Even with the SB card you will have to disable your built in card. try pressing the delete key when you restart the computer, your keyboard should still work in bios, I have a usb keyboard as well and can operate it in bios.

The asio for all drivers are a good choice but you also need the latest WDM drivers for your sb card which can be found on creatives site.

Go with the automatic update thing on creative as it will get you up to speed btw even though sb live is mainley a gaming card youll get far better performance out of it or you could go for a X-Fi card like I did and get 1ms latency across the board.
