Start with a cheapish (but good) classical. Develop your technique - see if you like it, then think about buying a Conde Hermanos (of course there are many great instrument and this is only one).
Getting a teacher is great idea; You will get started faster and have constant advice on your technique.
I also think it would be best to start off with the traditional stuff to establish a good grounding before moving on to more modern style. Sabicas is good for this. Paco Pena, though not a particularly inspired player, is good to listen and learn from.
There is a lot of flamenco transcriptions on www.mysongbook.com , but they require Guitar Pro (free demo) to view.
Last of all, you don't have to worry about where you are coming from musically. If you like flamenco now, you will find it continues to drive you, and you will learn so much. So, all the best on your endeavour.
