Going from Cubase vst 5.1 to sx 3 whats the learning curve l

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll probably go for the switch in the new year.
There is so much to consider, esp on the hardware side, AMD vs Intel, what chipeset to go for ATA vs SATA, It seems things change very rapidly in the PC world, I got my current PC only less than 2 years ago, and it seems ancient. I Wish I could just upgrade the processor but with the chipset I have no one can seem to get it (2.6 p4 400 mhz bus speed). I'm glad I at least have the m audio omni pci bundle, it seems to be stable with most systems.
I may just go with single core for the chip, as I have other progs I use that are not optimized for dual core. I'm even thinking of sticking with ATA verses SATA just to be safe, and no PCI-X, I've never been an early adopter as I've been burned to many times (Windows ME , ((shudder))...
