It has standard ASIO/CoreAudio-Driver and standard MIDI-Drivers, but the Pedals and Switches doesn't send MIDI events, it communicate with GuitarRig via an own USB-Protocol.

I have to agree dimitar. I have guitar rig 1 and have pre-ordered the update to 2. But the distortion is unfortunately not quite right. I like guitar rig a lot, I really want it to be a the fantastic plugin that it is so close to being, but they haven't quite cracked it yet.

They're doing what with the who-now?Lunch Money wrote:I'm surprised they didn't make the new control into a more standard device. Guess not enough people complained about the weird audio-cable-thingy last time.

A guy from NI on their forum says it doesn't send CC's YET,but they are working on it.Steffen Fuerst wrote:It has standard ASIO/CoreAudio-Driver and standard MIDI-Drivers, but the Pedals and Switches doesn't send MIDI events, it communicate with GuitarRig via an own USB-Protocol.

I wonder how GR2 compares to the new Line6 TonePort?

is there any acoustic modeling?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

the toneport has the same exact sounds as the podxt -- stripped down a bit i think, but the same. I would venture to say guitar rigs sound quality is superior to the podxt's but not as many sound variations s far as amps, and cabs, and of course, podxt doesnt hit your cpu. For now i would say i am sticking with both.cptgone wrote:I wonder how GR2 compares to the new Line6 TonePort?

I downloaded GR2 demo today. Installed it as Standalone, VSTi, and DXi. Installation went perfectly. So, I began reading the PDF file on setting up the Standalone version. Then I double clicked on the GR2 icon on the Desktop to open it. What the
is wrong here? This is what I saw instead: " Your demo version evaluation period has expired. Thank you for testing Guitar Rig 2 Demo". The same thing happens when I tried to load the VSTi and DXi versions in Hosts. I didn't even get to play with the software. I had tried the Guitar Combos demo some months ago and uninstalled them, so I don't know if their "end of evaluation period" was the cause of this catastrophic event.
