You are sorta right there... A dedicated drum sampler wouldn't be necessary. But the interface of drum samplers are a little nicer to work with (from a GUI standpoint) than a sampler's keyboard mapper...NAD wrote:When you've got Kontakt there's really not much need for a dedicated drum sampler. If you know what I mean....

Jamstix, since I'm so clueless to make my own beats. But when I do, I use Jamstix in manual mode as well.
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

FL Studio
seriously, if you need a drum sample that is also a drum machine, Definately go for it.

Voted other.
I use sfz, cyclone and vSampler the most for soundfonts, individual WAV files and libraries. I also use the free older version of DR-005 and RM-F to load older libraries.
BUT MOSTLY....
I use romplers like DR-Fusion and DSKDrumz.
I'm actually looking for a new drum sampler with a REALLY NICE sample library:
RM-IV, DR-008, Battery, or ????????

The stepsequencer in FL Studio is all I ever use, I love it for programming drums, it's very powerful.

I use the RM III that I bought from Linplug right after I first got my computer last year. My samples are ProSamples Real Drum Kits. I also have Loopazoid & SR202 but never use them. For all my soundfont kits(I have several really good ones now) I use sfz or VSampler.
