forgot to mention this before, but FL5 has a "detect tempo" function for audio clips. just drop it in the playlist, click the arrow on the top left of the clip and click that option. it seems to be fairly accurate. i think after it detects the tempo, FL even asks if you want to set the project tempo to match the clip.

how does it detect it its not always accurate soemtimes giving ridiculous results if its a non standard sample

FLS can do many things(I am a great FLS fan), but It can't handle audio files which is not measured already. That's the reason where different hosts have their own strength. "Beatmap" term started with ACID (if i am not wrong) and it can be done seemlessly in Ableton Live.

Can i beatmap tracks in FL Studio?
