Tasmin Archer, fantastic English singer with a very warm, soulful voice yet with some bite to it when the song requires it. Had a big hit in the early 90s with Sleeping Satellite (from the album 'Great Expectations'. That song btw. also contains my favourite organ solo in pop music.

That was a nice song but the rest of her music was kinda lame. And they could've used a de-esser when they recorded her voice. SSSSSSSSSsleeping SSSSSSSSSSatelliteSSSSSSSs!!!!

Oh yeah, my contribution would be SHAKKO BO. '93... '94 I think. The song "here we go again" was great but that was all I've ever heard from them.

sleep chamber: L.A. porno-industrial underground group; When I was a DJ I used to get strange electronic music mailed to me from all over the place - this was one of them, although I read about them in a gothic rag too, so I know they had a following.

He used to have a site somewhere, but I can't seem to track it down. Last read it 4 years ago or something.
At the time, he was a bit of a junky (more than a bit, actually) and pretty ill, IIRC.
It seemed he was still performing, mainly in adult theaters (having seen some images of live, um, shows, I'd say that's hardly surprising).

holy shit!
i had just grabbed it off the top of my brain for this thread, i honestly didn't think anyone would respond! The tape they sent me (so many years ago) had some great tracks on it. Didnt sound like anything else i had heard, and yet several were perfect for playing in the club.
Thanx for the link anyway, interesting to see what has been happening in the interim. It also looks like i had underestimated them by quite a bit.

I loved Olive's first album. And I didn't realise that Ruth-Ann the vocalist had recorded vocals on a number of Enigma tracks.

"Trickle" is indeed a great album .
I still play it regularly.
"Extra Virgin" however was absolute shite bar the ever fantastic 'Your Not Alone' which is fuggin dance floor classic IMHO .

Never noticed it to be honest. And the rest of Great Expectations is quite good, too in my view. But I guess vocals are a very personal taste. Still, I would have liked to see lots of more albums by her as it's a voice with character.

I think you mean Stakka Bo.
There was a 2'nd album, "the great blondino", a few years later that never really made it. The title track had a very obvious Camel sample from "the snow goose".
By far the best he did IMO was a cover of "We Vie" (don't recall the original artist), together with Titiyo, Fleshquartet and Nåid. Great song, but I have no idea if it was ever played outside of Sweden.
