Isn't that an OEM license? Only for use with the bundled sound card... ?
If so, you might as well download a warezed 1.5 :?
Probably not, and if it is, thats retarded. My copy is installed on one computer. If i didnt have the disc, it would sit in my brother's closet.

P.S. look up the definition of "warez"

unfortunately I ca not help you there, hopefully some cubase users will speak up...:)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

what is the benefit of using aa over say cubase sl or sonar 5 studio ed? doesn't cub/son both give me multitrack audio capability? what is the benefit of aa over cubase/sonar and vice versa when used in conjuction with fls. also how good is the audio recording capabilities in fls? should have fls6 asap THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT

Post

Audio only? Adobe Audition all the way. Quite expen$ive though. I have never "rewired" it though, so I can't comment on stability.

one benefit of aa is the editor and it's function...compared to sonar I like it better, also aa has eqs for every channel but sonar studio does not. However sonar has peak meters foe every channel where aa uses one master. aa has very good noise reduction, spectral view options that are handy, the frequency band splitter is useful but it's not asio, but it does slave if that's a need for you...but it's stregnth is in it's editor imo, when using non-real time fx the option to preview the effects is better as setting the preview or audition range is easier, also you have bypass and pre/post roll so you can hear the sound as the effect comes in and after the range you wish to apply it to. :)

Above is what I based my suggestion on. Why would you want all the excess crap (and CPU load) of a full-featured DAW just to record audio?

good point, yet beacuse FL5 sucks so much ass at recording, I can see why he would want a better audio recorder. I personally find that ACID is quite good at recording, although the CPU load is tremendous. SoundForge 8 as well.

I have never tried Audition for editing, I have Wavelab 4 which won't let itself be run unless it gets updated to 5, WHICH COSTS MONEY!!! Goddamn I hate Steinberg! they give f**king dongles and then won't let me run Wavelab unless I pay to update it :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum:

P.S. sorry for the smileys. they really show my anger as of now

Post

Yes, ACID for sure....anything other than a big, fat DAW.
Hey, I'll borrow half those smileys. Steinberg sucks majorly now. They used to be such nice people. What a shame. It must have to do with success.

Post

sound forge 8 does not support rewire. What are the benefits of rewire versus not having it? also any opinions on multitrack studio and ntrack. I think i'm leaning towards aa

Take a community college class. Recreational swimming, English as a Second Language, or Vector Calculus, whatever you'd like to do to improve yourself, doesn't matter. Then get Adobe Audtion from the school bookstore for $125.

Post

I dunno  sonar, cubase, aa....aa is by far the cheapest no? Isn't it only 300 bux?...I got it by upgrading from ce2k, then updating to 1.5...;)

you will have a hard time registering a warezed 1.5 ;)

some peeps in this place are f**king twats! maby thay hate us making better music than them even though we did not pay as much for the software as thay did

try it
I got a copy with my tascam and finally got around to trying it out because I simply want to get away from sony acid now
over here FL5,Orion,and P5 all work well as rewire slaves in cubase and recording audio is a breeze.

acid on the other hand...do I need to continue?

let's face it
the one thing that made it revolutionary is not the sole domain of acid anymore, and it's wanting in most other aspects

The main problem with ACID is the CPU load and the time it takes to load... There's really nothing else that's wrong with it
