for the old days of FT2 and IT... 95-98. Back when all I could afford was an SB16 and hifi speakers.

First tracker I reg'd, one by un4seen... forget the name... digitracker ii i think.

First sample cd I ever bought.... Maz #1 Sounds Tools.

Last tracker I reg'd before going to hardware... Madtracker 1.x

MT1 was only released thru a French computer magazine back in 1995, so I think you mean MT2.x?

probably. it was in 1998. I know i went to hardware right before they put out a big update with a lot of new features.

I still venture into the tracker-style music from time to time. I use modplug tracker for that... It's no ScreamTracker 3, but it is pretty good. I'll always look back fondly on my ST3 days... That amber-on-black colour scheme is permanently burned into my retinas...

I sometimes wish to relive the magic of those days... For most of my life, computers seemed utterly useless and uninteresting to me. Until one day I walked into some electronics store, and one of the computers was playing a MOD file called 'Space Debris' by Renaissance. I had to stop and listen (and watch the scrolling hex sequencer) for at least 30 minutes before my GF dragged me away.

I bought a computer about a week later.

same for me. my song was "axel f." though & i played hours with it in a friends house instead of the electronics store.

RENOISE is approaching apotheosis; King of Trackers! There are a few missing features which I have probably complained too much about already. But in my opinion it makes modplug, skale, impulse, etc. redundant, if not obsolete.

Don't get me wrong, they are all great progs, but... In the end, there can be only one!

(In the meantime, however, I'm stuck using multiple apps for composition, performance, mixing, and mastering, which is a time-consuming process and which should be unnecessary. If Renoise were just updated and improved in a few ways, it would become the fabled "all-in-one" solution that everyone has been searching for, but has yet to materialize.)

yes...i do..psycle ...its a bit like renoise/ft2 and modular like buzz...
psycle is getting a new pattern sequencer and a new vst host in some months...

Yea, I'm using Revist as a 'sketch pad' inside of Energy XT. Symbiosis makes things more interesting.

renoise is awesome, i use it too. though i'm pretty rusty tracking nowadays i loved IT2 in the old times. renoise is my favorite newschool tracker, with madtracker after it. i like that mt can be rewired in.

do you need help with something specific to renoise? ask here. there is no official channel of communication on kvr but there are plenty of trackers reading. couldn't hurt.

i've got those maz cd's too

and the hornet mod archive. mazsound is still a great resource.

anybody using trackers?
