Sorry - what's Reaktor got to do with BuzComp?
----Reaktor has many compressors/exciters available for it, I was just saying that even having access to all those, in addition to some others, that the BCL102 is still one of my most used plugs for compression.

Jeff
 Oh, OK. I thought you meant that Reaktor creates so many peaks that you need a really good compressor or something...never mind, I get it and agree fully with your BuzComp praise! I'm going to buy that bundle ASAP.

----The BCL102 is very straight ahead, and somewhat "cold & digital" in that it's not meant to be emulating analog compression sounds, that I'm aware of. It reminds me of a slightly stripped down version of the Reaktor ensemble - Silver Channel, which is probably my most used compressor of 2005. It seems very transparent in a digital way, and it's just fairly basic yet gets the job done with a minimum of hassle, and is not prone to overly coloring the sound, like the BCL102. Not having much experience with analog compressors at all, I wouldn't go comparing either the BCL102, or Silver Channel to them, however, for basic, good, straight ahead digital compression, those are amongst my most often reached for choices these days.
----The BCL102 also offers a built-in stereo widener, something I'm usual pretty hesistant to use, but in extremely small doses, it seems to not cause any problems and spreads the sound an extra 5%-10%, which doesn't sound like much, but adds up when you've already got a nice full mix going.

Just gave the new version of the linear multiband comp a go.. it is extremely good! Very nice work BuzzAudio! I like the interface (it could be a bit easier to use and have at least one page with ALL the meters and parameters, like the older versions) graphics and the layout. It reminds me a bit of the graphics in the TC System 6000. :)

The sound is very good. Definately one of the best multiband compressors out there. I could get results from this thing that no other multiband could do (not even Soniformer 2). I re-mastered some old material that was sloppy and didn't have enough punch in the bass. BuzzAudio CP5 gave it the needed punch and control where I wanted. Amazing tool!

I'll be buying a license for sure.. yet another compressor. :help:

Cheers!

hi bmanic..

i trust your opinion when it comes to compressors. just checked the comp. gui-wise yesterday and i think it offers astonishing possibilities. i think it could be limited to one page or sth. but :-o nevertheless.

is the beta limited in any way? it says `demo somewhere on the gui :help:

Only limit seems to be a drop-out every 1 minute or so. I just purchased my license and am very happy! A small general warning: Like with all multiband compressors, this one is NOT "instant gratification" (well that is untill I release some presets for it! :hihi:). You need to know what you are doing and what you aim for. Otherwise you just end up making things worse.

I've always liked BuzzRoom's compressors for their potential of being truly agressive and I thought maybe this multiband can work as a life-safer for sloppy/loose mixes and hey, it does! :)

Cheers!

You see, I was up late and just trying to be silly. Guess I'm not good at the sarcastic posts, I'll keep it more real in the future. Just having a bit of fun with you, sorrry about that.

Back OT:I tried running a mix through the new BuzComp and I found it a tad aggresive-sounding comapred to LinMB (which is a tough comparison, granted), but man is it easy to use, and I do have to sit with it more, lots of parameters to tweak. I'm not sure if I dig this multi-page setup, but then again, there is a lot of info to put there. Come to think of it, it would be even better if he replaced the little ADSR graph there with a BIG view of the individual band's level meter. I'd love to have a multiband compressor that really gives you a db-by-db report of average compression per band.

Just a thought. Sorry again, Bmanic. :(

I think the GUI is way less friendly, all controls in one window kinda make it easier to see whats going on and take control in a better way.

but just my opinion,I'll stick with the 1.04 tho.

Those pink and yellow dots seems like mashmellows haha...oops sorry.

Buzroom = AWESOME comps !!

i agree.
i prefered the previous one, with everything readable in one sight, or the nice black skin of the free bundle...
the round kbnobs are a little too "funny" to my taste, and in my opinion a bit less usable...

but the sound... wow

I gotta say I like the much bigger, more readable threshold/gain reduction meters. A big improvement over the old, if you ask me.

I picked these up last month - the new developments look great! I didn't have a compressor with an ADSR curve - very cool!

There's room for bigger or different fonts I think, but the global vew gives better control.

Awesome comps btw;)

Yes, I completely agree with this. This is the main reason I prefere BuzzRoom's Multiband as I find the waves one to be much too "polite" but still not transparent enough to compete with Soniformer 2 which makes the waves one completely a lost cause for me. BuzzRoom's multiband and Soniformer 2 compliment each other very well as Soniformer can't really be 'brutal' in a way that the CL5 can.
