Canned Heat: You're welcome. :)

Spe3D: Yeah the electric burners on the stove make some intersesting noises when they begin conducting. Personally my favorites are the couple that I am swinging a stick (Pretty fast) across the front of the mics, really nice swoosh sound. You are right about the percussive kit. Anyone who wants to map these and upload is fine, you can even email me and I'll host them. Thanks for your drum kits too by the way.

vurt: For some reason I really like sampling stuff. Glad you like the samples. :)

mn: You are welcome, Merry Christmas. :)

puffer: Cool, if you ever make anything out of these I would happy to here it.

Thanks everyone for taking the time. :)

Hey...thanks so much for thowing all those samples out into the universe!

BTW, re: breaking glass...the song took on new meaning one night as I laid awake and listened to some kids have a glass breaking orgy at a building down the street -some years ago- there must have been about 20 of 'em, breaking bottles against a brick wall. For about an hour and a half there was a veritable symphony - strangely, pathetically, it was so beautiful and I didn't even think to call the cops or anything...a remarkable sonic adventure! Too bad it was before for my electronic music career.

you are welcome mayan :)

Anyone know the best place to get glass, for the purpose of breaking. I got all kinds of alcohol bottles, but I'm sure an alternate shapes and thickness would add a nice variety.

Buy a pair of safety glasses and a gas blow torch (also find a metal pipe, like copper used in plumbing)

Heat the glass bottle gently all over then focus in one area, turn the gas off, get the pipe and rest it against the glass where you focused the heat – and it should smash into about three or four pieces, its pretty loud (watch your face too)

If you do this above some concrete or rock you will also be able to get the tinkering sounds as the bottle pieces drop to the ground.

Fill a few of them with water and blow across the tops too.

String some up n hit them with a bit of wood (not so they break, just get the sounds)

Set some up n fire a catapult at them (actually a catapult with a metal ball fired at an angle against rock, gives a nice ricochet sound)

Tones of sounds available from glass bottles :D

Best regards,

Peter

Just so you know your samples are being abused. I've just posted my holiday masterpiece over at the Music Cafe. Thanks and hope you are at least a little amused.

I'd love to record that in stereo.

I missed the fat dog's belly sound, is that still available?

Hey, cool samples!

What mic's / setup did you use Genetic?

Post

I used pretty inexpensive stuff. My equip. includes a pair of 50 dollar MXL condenser mics -> audio buddy preamp (80 bucks),-> rear inputs of emu 1820m sound card. The sound card wasn't too inexpensive, but I've been pleased with its charateristics thus far.
