offtopic: Do sequencers these days support import of songs made in another sequencer? E.g. can I load a Logic song i the most recent version of Cubase SX?

Not really. There is OMF format, which some hosts can export to, which usually results in your audio and MIDI tracks coming in lined up, but nothing too fancy; there is another format in the works, can't remember what it is offhand.Skaven83 wrote:offtopic: Do sequencers these days support import of songs made in another sequencer? There is a lot of incentive to be able to export to Pro Tools, but apart from that, I doubt we'll ever see true cross-platform compatibility.

incase you haven't noticed there's such thing as 'audio warez' a lot of people on this board use it, i suspect more than you think.original flipper wrote:HI
By the time you get comfortable with SX there will be an up-date to Live that brings back stability!
If you like Live so much why not use the previous stable version.
I can understand that new up-dates can bring problems; what I can't work out though is this: why does an application that was doing what you needed it to do all of a sudden in need of replacing (until current problems are ironed out?) - you then want to spend $500 on a new host that you have no idea on whether that will be stable, have to learn to use it and pay an arm and a leg to buy it.
Just go back a version in Live and get back the stability - doesn't that make sense?
Flipper.
You do know, that H2O's version is actually less cpu intencive because they cut most of the shit out that cubase sx3 comes with, thus creating a software fake dongle.BERFAB wrote:I'm running 3.0.2 etc. Haven't gone to 3.1 yet mostly because I'm very stable where I am. but now that people have been saying the upgrade is safe, I will do so.
The "my mom gave me a fee copy for xmas" is highly suspect, of course. We've seen it a million times. But giving you the benefit of the doubt for the moment, your current version should be fine--but then again you should already know that since you've already got the software.![]()
Of course, let's hope your next post doesn't start with "I lost the dongle to the software my mom gave me for xmas. Does anyone know how to..."

Personally for what i've experienced, cubase sx3's automation is just total rubbish.Muff Wiggler wrote:i'm very very very happy with SX3, for me it's very stable. no problems. most of my projects have a handful of mono audio tracks, a midi track triggering a sampler w/large multisample sets, a few vsti tracks, a handful of effectsl, and quite a bit of automation. I used to use ReWire in my projects a lot too, but don't anymore.
anyway all this has always worked just fine for me - couldn't really be much happier with it to be honest
I'd be using it and it would 'forget' for about two seconds, and then sometimes it would completely blank out any automation, this is one main reason why i don't use cubase anymore.
how is it for you?

one question: when you buy, say, cubase sx3, do you have to pay also for subsequent upgrades to 3.1, 3.2...???

I would call the above dignifying it with an answer. I'm just not sure why you felt the need to out yourself as someone running a pirate version of cubase on this forum which is so obviously hostile to such activity.even7 wrote:i won't even dignify this with an answerBERFAB wrote:The "my mom gave me a fee copy for xmas" is highly suspect, of course. If you want to run a "version your mom bought you" why don't you just do it in the privacy of your own bedroom - just pretend it is porn
